We'll find out if this team really does rise to the occasion, or if those blips we've seen in concentration are a real persistent weakness. I think the most dangerous scenario is if we take the lead and let off the gas thinking the match is won. USC has enough weapons to hurt us quickly and make it hard to build confidence back in short order.
That said, Carlini gives me a sense of calm. Besides her obvious skill, she is so confident and positive that, along with the basic competitiveness shown by others, you feel any blip will not stick for long with this team. She just doesn't seem like a college kid to me.
It's looking more and more likely that I will miss this game too.

USC never seem to stay down for long, and could turn it around against UW. USC in four.

I've had a calm pre-conference, no nail biters yet. That's going to end tonight. As for tomorrow, I confess I probably won't make it past the second set because I will be sleepy. I anticipate Diane and Jon sending me off to sleep. (unless Diane screams like in the Texas match or something)

USC never seem to stay down for long, and could turn it around against UW. USC in four. They are down pretty far right now ... they need to somehow cobble together enough good passing off serve and in transition to take advantage of their potent in-system attack. I know Mick is a great coach, but this might be too much to ask in such a short amount of time even for him.

This may be Wisconsin's year! I think Wisky wins this one!

This high-level match is an added treat that I hope a lot of other UWash fans come out to watch. at 5:30 on a Thursday night? I don't think so! I don't even live in Seattle anymore and the thought of going anywhere near the intersection of Montlake Ave. and NE Pacific (which is where Hec Ed is) gives me a massive headache. I recall a few years ago for the regional there was TERRIBLE traffic for the early match (I think a 5:30 pm start time) and the teams actually got out of the bus in the middle of the road and walked the rest of the way to the arena. Seattle traffic is no joke. I blame the old liberals for poor city planning in the past, the new liberals for poor city planning now, foreigners for being bad drivers, and all the recent transplants for moving there.

This may be Wisconsin's year! I think Wisky wins this one! GO HUSKERS Looking like it's a two team race as of this point. Wisconsin and penn state. Nebraska hasn't looked very good. Gonna be fun to watch this next two weeks. Wisconsin has to tough games this weekend. Penn state has 4 games this weekend to play again for second straight weekend. Then it's short week. Conference play starts on Wednesday with Wisconsin and penn state.

As far as tonight's match, Wisconsin prob should win but I'm gonna take USC. Just can't see them losing 3games this quick. I do think Wisconsin will take care of Washington tommorrow though. Just my opinion.

Just my opinion. Would prefer badgers to win for a little conference pride since psu and Wisconsin have been the only two holding up conference so far. Just have a feeling about USC tonight.

Carlini may be great but setters don't win tough matches. They just lose them. Sc is working in important new players and they still need work. Haley doesn't put much stock in these early matches. They're just practice. If Wisconsin is for real they should win easily

I really don't like unbalanced schedules myself. Yeah, this adding of Maryland and Rutgers is really gonna screw schedules up a lot more. Who wants to see psu vs Maryland or Wisconsin vs Rutgers. Most would agree they wanna see the top programs play each other twice each year then if u have to rotate do it with bottom half teams.
