Badgers:
DOMINATING ON OFFENSE AND IN BACK ROW
The Badgers have dominated on offense this season, recording more kills and hitting at a higher percentage than all eight opponents. UW has hit better than .300 in six matches this season and is on track to have its highest team hitting percentage in program history.
Wisconsin has also recorded more digs than all eight foes and more blocks than six opponents.
BALANCED OFFENSE
The Badgers have won eight matches this season with a balanced offense.
Five starters are averaging 2.2 or more kills per set. Senior Ellen Chapman leads the team with 3.56 kills per set while senior Courtney Thomas adds 2.81 kills per set. Freshman Kelli Bates chips in 2.56 kills per set while middle blockers Dominique Thompson (2.23) and Haleigh Nelson (2.23) also contribute.
The Badgers are 2-0 with four players, 1-0 with three players, 2-0 with two players and 3-0 with one player in double figures.
GREAT START
Wisconsin's 8-0 start is one of the top-10 openings in program history. The best undefeated marks are 11-0 starts in 1996 and 2010
Trojans:
Southern California
The Trojans are 6-2 on the season, coming off a pair of losses at their own invitational. USC dropped a 3-2 decision to Texas A&M before falling 3-0 to No. 10 Florida. The Trojans opened the season with six straight wins, three from the Pacific Volleyball Classic in Stockton, Calif., and another three at the Commonwealth Classic in Lexington, Ky.
Junior Samantha Bricio, a 6-2 outside hitter, leads the team with 3.37 kills per set. Sophomore Ebony Nwanebu, a 6-4 outside hitter, chips in 3.00 kills per set while senior Emily Young, a 6-2 outside hitter, puts away 2.60 kills per set.
Bricio ranks second on the team with 2.67 digs per set while sophomore Taylor Whittingham, a 5-8 libero, has a team-best 3.92 digs per set.
The Trojans put up 2.20 blocks per set, led by 6-4 sophomore Alicia Ogoms (1.14).
Bricio also has 25 of the team’s 39 service aces, recording 0.83 aces per set.
