Neal and Pilar in the front row at the same time won't get us too far come post season IMO although I liked the sub for McCage at the time

Orpheus...it's clear you are not a Chloe fan nor do you have a clue about the game. I would think that if you truly understood, both Collins & Dalton compliment each other and the Texas team. I would hope that Elliott & his staff know what they are doing as that's why you are on this board and not in the coaching seat. Great win Longhorns,
Signed, Chloe Fan

Texas will not compete for a national championship in a 6-2, especially if McCage is on the RS with Hattis at middle. The lineup combinations were a mess.

Does anyone have the stats from this match? The stat page posted earlier would never pull up for me.

Good game, Longhorns. You guys deserve it!
Too bad the Huskers couldn't finish it off! I'm feeling better about the rest of the season though. I'd say stick with Ostrander, and Fien subbing in for Amber when needed. Worked well today. Kadie Rolfzen is MVP for Nebraska. 21 kills, just shy of hitting .300 and 6 errors. MUCH improved from the 10 errors she had against Creighton! I think this match is huge for Neb., despite the loss. It's a confidence booster after our ego took a blow from Stanford and FSU, but now we know we can compete with the best teams, and hopefully it'll help toughen us up for the Big Ten. Keep improving, Huskers! GBR!!

Texas will not compete for a national championship in a 6-2. The lineup combinations were a mess. You would be correct, I'm a Collins Fan! Texas has too many attacking options, if it's done right, not to run a 6-2. Let's look at in set 4, Collins and Victoria rotate out up 23-22 & Texas doesn't score again and Nebraska wins. Collins rotates directly in during the 5th set side out and is up 7-3 on the sub change and back in at 12-8 & Texas wns15-8. Right now, watching Stanford & Penn State, it's going to be tough to compete at that level no matter who you are. It's my opinion & I'm sticking too it.

If past seasons are any indication, the 6-2 will be scrapped soon with Collins heading to the bench.

I'm of the opinion Texas has far less attacking options than many think.
If Amy Neal is the lead option as the 2nd OH, this team will be in trouble at the regionals.
I like Collins, but the volleyball height limitations for her and Neal are a problem at Texas.

Thanks. Didn't think Texas used Obogu enough, way too reliant on the OH's.

If you talk to the right people, the intangibles that Collins has, makes up for it. Penn State won a National Championship with 5'6" Carpenter setting a 5-1. The 5'7" OH for Wisconsin destroyed Texas last year in the semi-finals. Need I say more?

Obviously a 6-2 has it's advantages... But, I'm not sold yet with Texas running it so far . I've only been able to watch the arizona match this season. They don't seem to be consistent enough with the 6-2 . They've tried almost every conceivable combo and it's still a work in progress. Why not run a 5-1 with: OH1-Eckerman OH2-Bell M1-McCage M2-Obogu Setter- Dalton Opp- Prieto/Pilar L-McCoy Bell and Eckerman play all rotations and you have an attacking option from the back row. It seems it might work, but what do I know . As I recall, Bell played on the outside early during her freshmen season.

To those that watched the match was this more credit to Nebraska playing well or Texas playing bad I can't tell?

I didn't see this match but solely based on stats, Collins looks to be the better option!! Assists digs blocks Ball handling errors! Collins 25 8 0 0 Dalton 22 10 0 3

To those that watched the match was this more credit to Nebraska playing well or Texas playing bad I can't tell? I think a little of both but more so Texas playing badly. The horns tried every combination of different line-ups possible to see who would produce and never really looked as if they had a steady flow. The announcers said this was the best they saw Neb play all season thus far.
