Will Karsta Lowe lead the Bruins to a win against the struggling Trojans? Or will Samantha Bricio serve her team a 3rd straight victory against their rivals? Personally, if the Bruins can get SC out of system, they should take this match in 4. What do you all think? On a side note. I'm not too sure if this match will be streaming but it will be televised on the Pac-12 Network. Live Audio: www.uclabruins.com/mediaPortal/player.dbml?type=live&db_oem_id=30500

I gotta go with Southern Cal on this one...................they switched home dates with UCLA because Pauly and the Wooden Center got flooded out by a huge water main break and the wooden floors must be replaced because they have become warped. If this was at UCLA tonight I would go with the Bruins. Souhthern Cal is still trying to figure out who they are..............growing pains.

I've watched SC's matches against Pacific, Texas A&M, Florida, Wisconsin, and Maryland. And they definitely are still trying to figure out who they are..... I hope Abercrombie will get more playing time. Gillis and her passing woes are at times unbearable to watch and Nwanebu really needs to show up for this match. Yes, she isn't a 100% healthy but she needs to make some sort of statement.

USC should really win this but if UCLA does, USC should really drop out of the top 10!

Nwanebu.
If she's back to full speed, USC is going to be tough. But if she's still not 100%, Bricio won't be enough.

I'm going with the Bruins. Unlike last year, this year the Bruins are very balanced. Karsta Lowe is playing all-world. Zoe Nightingale is much improved + 2 incredible freshmen outside hitters. Their backcourt is way better than the Women of Troy.

Her hitting numbers are down this year and she should be doing better in this year's system compared to last year's. Also, the two freshmen outside hitters are not "incredible." They may be significant to the team, but not incredible. Strantzali hasn't played well against most of the top teams UCLA has faced. USC will probably have the block ready for all of the sets to Lowe, therefore UCLA needs the two freshmen to have a chance at winning. If Lowe isn't having a great night, hopefully UCLA figures out to feed Felix on the slide because we all know that's what teams have been doing to them.

What's interesting is that USC is usually the squad with their offense run through one big gun (Kaczor, Jupiter, then Bricio until Nwanebu took some load off her last year) .. But this year its Lowe for UCLa.
I feel like Lowe did not play her best last year against SC both times... She will be ready this year.
USC has been a strong serving team. That is kind of making up for the lack of passing. If the blocking was better that would help the defense as well. But the setting is even questionable so USC is sketchy all around ( so far)
Nonetheless, SC in 4 or 5. Stranzali serve and Lowe terminating are my biggest two fears for the match. Hagglund dug some HARD balls from Lowe last year. She is even better this year.

Consani needs to give Lowe at least 2.5 times as many sets as any other hitter on the team. The "balanced" offense pretense needs to go when they're playing another ranked team.

I believe that the Bruins are much improved, and I also believe that Nightingale has improved, but not in the way you think. She is blocking well. If the Trojans ball control is iffy, they will not win this match.

I cant understand how some posters think Zoe has improved this year unless they mixed her up with Felix. Are we watching the same team?
