massey rating, school (teams in the top 50 of Massey 8 Colorado State 10 Loyola Marymount 13 BYU 16 Northridge 28 Marquette 29 Hawaii 30 SMU 33 UOP 34 San Diego 36 Appalachian St 37 West Kentucky 38 Ohio 44 Long Beach State 47 UNLV 48 Wyoming 50 Santa Clara for information only 35 = Purdue How about none of the above. To get that far that means you have to beat one of the top 4. Could any of these teams beat Penn state, Stanford, Texas, Washington or Wisconsin? Not likely. it's certainly possible. byu went 5 with washington (albeit on byu's home court). nevertheless, it could happen.

I saw the UCLA-Loyola Marymount match. UCLA looked very disjointed that day...all the newcomers were getting used to each other. They are a much better team now. Yet, LMU impressed me very much that day. I really like Long Beach State. They dumped eight non-Seniors from last year's team and overhauled the roster. The new players look good, with their holdovers. Too bad they lost close matches to LMU and Oregon State last week. The Big West will be VERY interesting this year. I see a three way race between Long Beach, Hawaii and CS Northridge. Santa Barbara is underachieving this year...thought they would be doing better.
