osu takes s2 29-27. 1 set each going in to the break. Arizona had 4 set points and couldn't close the deal... imo, way to much tipping. looks like MK is the only one who will take a hard swing at crunch time. osu is serving PS forcing the Cats out of system. how do the littles look so good and so bad during the same volley? RR is faster than Mac in the middle but looked lost in set 2.

to osu 6-2 Cats. the stats are crazy lop sided and it appears Arizona will split 4 weeks in a row.

second to for osu as they are down 16-10. i'm sure Arizona will be glad to get home for some rest after playing 4 matches in 7 days. the team will be tied for 3rd in the conf with a closeout.

Posting a little late on Cat win over O. State - 25-19, 27-29 (bummer), 25-15, 25-14. Went to Champagne last evening to watch the Illini beat Indiana, got back home at 10:30 to watch most of the Arizona match on line, so staggering a bit this morn (heading back to see the Illini play Purdue this eve 5 - BIG VB weekend). A nice victory after a real "tough" (that's enough description) match against Oregon Wed. While this one was a bit sloppy in places, there was lots of bright spots, and I'm thinking the team has successfully walked away from the dismal Wednesday, and are now ready to move forward. Some figures really stand out - don't think I have ever seen a 4 set match before, where we had over 100 digs (109 last night!). We hit only .206 as a team, but OS left with a .061 to think about. Front line defense was very good, with 12 blocks, (Ashley had 7!). Madi had a "MAXIMUM" productive night at the net with 27 - that's right, 27 - kills, with 79 swings (when she left the court, her right arm appeared to still be attached), and hit a very respectable .266. Others chipping in at the net were Halli & Rachael with 5 each, Taylor with 9, and Ashley, a whopping 15, with a .371 hitting %. Think this was her best night so far this season, as she also added 7 of the teams 12 blocks. Not sure I have seen us with many matches and 7 service aces - have had some real problems with serves as of late and, while there were 9 service errors, I have to think many of those were a result of their making a super effort to make more effective serves (aces certainly show some positives in that area). I think this was the effort that was needed after Wednesday - not only pleased with the win, BUT with the chance they now have to take a long, deep breath, and relax/rest (even if just for a little bit) as next matches - Colo & Utah - don't start until NEXT FRIDAY. Can't recall when they have had this many days between matches, and I'm think'n they can really use the down time. Nice Win Cats, have a great week in Tucson, AND let's get two next weekend.

i was really surprised by the Ducks sweep of the Cats. however, i was even more surprised by OSU's sweep of ASU. you've got to love the p12 conf. last night i watched the OU vs Texas match and was really shocked by the outcome of that contest. The Sooners played a heck of a match as they toppled the Longhorns in 3 and could easily be considered the top upset of the season so far.
