Okay. Pulled it out in three. 25-23. Too close for comfort, but we got it done.

Bright spots: - Our offense was great. Seriously low error percentage across the board. As in, the only player with >1 hitting error was Haleigh, with 2. Bates led with 13 kills and hit .444. Haleigh hit .545, Court .500, Dom .429, Jules .333, and Ellen .320. Ellen was swinging more aggressively. Bates was making smarter choices.
- Our passing, I thought, was strong. We gave LC a number of options. Her setting looked great. No trap sets, etc., everything clean and smooth.
- Our serving was strong. LC had 3 aces, and a number of points scored off of strong digging.
Observations: - Caroline is just serving for Bates and playing that one rotation. Bates rotates back in after that and plays back row for the other two rotations.
- When Jules plays RS, KT serves for her.
Sticky points: - We needed 6 match points to close it out. The passing kind of broke down at the end. NW stepped up their offense. I'm pretty sure they're going to watch a lot of tape of those last points.
- Kriskova is still wearing a compression stocking and is walking with a noticeable limp.
All in all, a solid W. We bus riders are glad to be on the road home before nine.

First question: What's so special about Portillo's chocolate cake? Chicagoans, please explain!! Match story: www.uwbadgers.com/sports/w-volley/recaps/100114aaa.htmlOk, so we've been wondering why he sticks with Bates and now she hit .444. I guess that's why we aren't coaches. I'm glad Chapman did better as well and I hope this turns her season around (not that it has been bad, but it has not been continuation of the end of last season). Sounds like, aside from the last SIX points, everything went right for the Badgers. I look forward to the bus report. It also sounds like the setter for Northwestern is really, really good. Jeez, what went wrong with Kriskova? Somebody needs to talk to her surgeon. Seems worse now than before. On to Illinois. Bring your earplugs, rainbow! I'm afraid the Orange Crush takes that one.
