Where did the defense go for this match? NW hitting .243 seems high. Don't know how much of that was due to that last run, where we seem to have lost concentration...again! Which rotation did we get stuck in in the end?
Good to see Jules getting some game time.

Northwestern has a couple of nice hitters, which is what makes them a dangerous team. If the Badgers' offense had been off, instead of on fire, this would have been really close. Sheffield was saying at the beginning of the match that the Wildcats were capable of long scoring runs, and clearly, that last set was a good example.

Yeah, but we usually hold teams well below their typical hitting percentage. NW typically hits about .270. They came pretty close to that. They hit over .300 in both sets 1 and 3. Based on the replay on BTN Plus (which missed first 20 points of 1st and 3rd sets for some reason), I felt we only really turned it up a notch in intensity a couple of times during some longish points in the second set. Then you could see the speed of the transition game and the way it focused all of the players. It just felt a little like we coasted through the rest of match on the strength of the offense, which was impressive considering how stingy NW's defense has been this year.
Anyway, it will be very interesting to see what happens at Illinois Saturday.
