For USC to have a chance in this match: 2. Since Italian setter seems to struggle setting right side move Nwanebu to OH with Bricio No. Nwanebu does not terminate well on the left-side. Why do you say Nwanebu does not terminate well from the left side? Did she play any left-side at USC her freshman year? (I do not know myself, I only saw a few games and she was RS) She was the primary left-side on her club, so last year was her first year as a RS and I would have to believe she would be comfortable as an OH.

She def was not the primary outside for her club. She played RS at TAV.

It seems very unlikely USC would switch their All-American FPOY RS hitter to a new position just as they come to Seattle to play the Huskies. But I guess it's possible. Cal did some interesting position changes for the UW match last week.

Obviously most coaches prefer the continuity on their own side of the net, but you can capture some points by being unexpected, at least in very short intervals.

2013 UW took three wins, 3-1 wins in seattle & galen reg season, and then a 3-2 win in the NCAA's after facing two match points. Don't remind me re: 3-2 win. I can remember sitting with the Hagglund family and the look on their faces, and Natalie's... it was heartbreaking that night at Galen Center. That's understandable. I, however, was literally bouncing around the room at home. I could not sit down. When Parker made the final kill, I was yelling her name over and over. Very emotional match, from both sides.

She hit leftside in Ro 1 serve receive several times.. And more often than not she struggled to terminate.. So as an adjustment In that Ro they would rather have ebony stacked and hit quick middle(1) , the middle runs slide, And RIght-front would hit outside

I will never forget USC in transition at 15-14. Bricio digs a ball with a pretty solid pass. Freshman Pizzasegola opts to go to freshman Ruddins for the match. And Ruddins misses. She had Shaw on the Left and Bricio middle back. Bricio, Shaw, and Ruddins were not hitting well.. So i think she may have made the right decision. Can't believe Ruddins just missed.....

I believe I have never, in my life, been as excited about a sporting event I didn't personally attend as I was about that match. The only other one that might match it was game 4 of the 1995 ALDS series between the Mariners and the Yankees.

And rightfully so.. Orlandini was the unsung hero. She ate up bricio's serve all night. . And it clipped the tape on match point, she didn't choke.

Most important match since Minnesota beat Southern Cal[1994] Long Beach arena to get to the finals. Mick's ship is leaking badly............... shouldnt it be 2004? You get my drift, I am only off by ten years. Put on me trial on how a nut case got by the Secret Service on ran around in the White House! Im just a humble poster on Volleytalk which few people read!
