Question: Chris kept saying that Hawaii practiced being 20-20 in practice seven times. How does that put pressure on the team? I know the score, but there's no real consequence as it's not in-game situation or does the losing team do extra laps or something? How does practicing against your second team at 20-20 put pressure? If Shoji says whoever wins the 4 out of 7 gets to start, maybe that's playing in pressure situation, but I don't see how practicing against your own teammates in PRACTICE puts the same type of pressure if you're playing a real game.

Someone needs to work on understanding their time zones. No, Hawaii just need to move east a bit, that's all. (I mean, faster than it already is.)

I agree, if you want to put pressure on the 1st unit in that kind of situation, give the 2nd unit an advantage make it 23-20 and see if the 1st unit can make it to 25 before the 2nd unit can.

This is turning out to be a one team BWC, and that team is LBSU. Hawaii to be in contention needs to play 100% better then it did tonight against a so-so Cal Poly team latent with Freshmen.

Why do you think Long Beach is that ahead of the Wahine? The Wahine lost to them in five in Long Beach without Magill for most of the match. It was not an easy win for Long Beach. Long Beach also went an extra set with Cal Poly a team that the Wahine just swept? So why do you think that Long Beach is so far ahead of the Wahine?

Long Beach is only ahead of Hawai'i in the win/loss column (which is important for postseason implications). That said, the Wahine will beat the Beach at the SSC in November. Volleyballfan99 should spend more time watching the game and less time watching the shorts.

No, Hawaii just need to move east a bit, that's all. (I mean, faster than it already is.) Hawai'i is technically moving west. We are not technically moving West, we are actually moving West Northwest about 2-3 inches a year.

I will say...this Poly team in two years, if everyone stays healthy and if everyone stays, will be very very good. How many times, during the past 5=6 years have we heard comments like this about Poly? Stuff is getting old Poly fans....just hasn't and won't happen.....Hawaii just having a down year and LBS is coming back to where they have been in the past, or at least definitely on the upswing!

Hawai'i is technically moving west. We are not technically moving West, we are actually moving West Northwest about 2-3 inches a year. This is true. But we certainly aren't moving East like the original response said. I find it funny you needed to correct me... West vs West Northwest. I was waaaay off.

Anyone want to second guess the coach on why we did'nt see Huff? My suspicion is it may be Shoji didn't want UCSB to see what Huff is capable of doing on the team at this point of the season.

Hawai'i is technically moving west. We are not technically moving West, we are actually moving West Northwest about 2-3 inches a year. Hmm. I was thinking of the hotspot constantly being east of whatever islands are still above the water, but I guess that can happen if the hotspot stays still and the islands move.
