Union University, DII TN posted for HC position: ncaamarket.ncaa.org/jobs/6702721/head-volleyball-coach"Successful candidates must be professing Christians who are active members of a local church, enthusiastically support Union University’s Identity, Mission and Core Values, and articulate a Christian worldview in their work and life." "Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree is required. Preference will be given to applicants with previous college coaching experience." I am used to seeing that in reverse order. Wonder if teaching duties are an unwritten part of the job? They also don't have a true assistant (used a student, as shown on the website) and are not fully funded...

Western Illinois is open... WHAT?? I'm shocked. I thought the 180 days of coaching experience she brought to the program would've really helped when she was hired. April Hall is very smart, one of the smarter people I know. Even though her resume was somewhat short, she has it all pretty together. She was in the midst of changing culture and revamping the training at WIU. She has very definite ideas about what needed to be done and she was executing on her plan. This is Western Illinois, a school with very little tradition in volleyball. Volleyballt is obviously not a priority with the school, so what better place for a young coach to start than in the hinterlands, in order to hone her skills for the next level. By the way, have you ever been in Macomb Illinois? Not only is it nothing to write home about, you don't want it to be known that you were in the proximity. A note about experience, does 20 years of experience mean 20 years of learning, renewal, and critical thought or is it just one year of experience 20 times over?

I was told a Big Ten coach from the state Indiana was offered over $250,000.00 to take the job! It's all over the convention! Lane Kiffen failed "up" for years, who is to say another cannot have the same fortune?

Is it possible that the one offered isn't familiar with the term "fail"?

Word from Oklahoma City indicates TCU attracting attention from power conference head coaches. This could get interesting. I've seen - well, heard, technically speaking - TCU's short list. And it's very, very interesting.

Just lost most of the respect that I had for our man Phaedrus. Western Illinois was going nowhere.

Western Illinois is open... Alot of work to do there. It looks like they have 5 kids on their roster, and one signee... So 6??? Can this be right?? They had 10 last fall, 4 were seniors. So 6 should move forward but only 5 showing on website. You can click roster on right drop box. If fully funded, a coach can come in and recruit who they want and have plenty of wiggle room
