Of course, Kessy is right that a #2 U.S. team didn't really emerge this season, so why not take a shot at Rio?
Let's hear some predictions for how the partner shuffling plays out for other women.

This will make points very interesting.
I'm pretty sure that with Kessy's maternity points, they will probably be #2 over Fendrick/Sweat early on.
That leaves everyone else battling for the qualifier spot.
The horrible thing for the US is that unless the 4th team separates early, any kind of flipping of positions is going to hurt a team's ability to build points in the qualifying process.

News has been floating around the beach community since at least last week.
Summer playing with Jen F to round out the break up between Day & Ross.
It will be interesting to see how the defense stacks up for both new teams.
Good luck to both new partnerships. Looking for Summer to have a rebound year.

Fopma and Summer? ? From what I've seen, Summer should commit to being a full-time blocker. Both Fopma and Summer would have been better off with Carico.

Lane is a tremendous defender as well as a great all around player.
Very quick to the ball.
Perhaps she and Kim will be better than these two new teams? !

I was excited about Summer/Fopma before last year but less so now. I do think Lane/Jen might be better. The problem with Summer is her general point scoring (meaning blocking and defense) is not strong. In that sense, Jen is a good partner for her because Jen is a very good scorer (with her blocking) and presumably can make up for some of what Summer lacks. Ross will get a ton of serves though

I think I like Day-Kessey better than Fopma-Day. I think.
Fopma makes defense a bit easier.

fyi, I tweeted to Nicole B. about next year's partner, she responded she is still working on it.

fyi, I tweeted to Nicole B. about next year's partner, she responded she is still working on it. I am imagining Branagh warming up alone at the first event, minutes start ticking away and points are being forfeited. Suddenly the Imperial March starts playing and out of nowhere there is EY, half of the players visibly quiver in fear.
