What has Miami accomplished, other than arrange for a high RPI (and beat Pitt, another done squat team that beats up on RPI 170 teams...) By the way, I'm a Pac 12 homer who has to realize that the middle of the PAC pack, which is like 8 of the teams, does little but beat up on each other, and should start showing some OOC success before squealing. Ok, more anti-Miami bias! Not surprising from a PAC-12 homer though. Both coasts will naturally have greater support for "their" teams, as will the middle of the country. PAC 12 may beat up on each other but there are a bunch of teams that are better than their records show. Last I looked, eight PAC teams are Top 25 in AVCA. Looks like they're getting due respect. It's a high quality conference. I'm not sure how Miami could have "arranged" for a high RPI. And to say "what have they accomplished" is to denigrate their season completely. I wouldn't say 11-3 to date in the ACC is accomplishing nothing. If you want to argue no quality wins, that's an easier one. They played the top 3 ACC teams and lost each match. Granted the Duke and UNC matches were both away, and they took FSU to 5. But if there are better teams who had better overall seasons than Miami then those teams should get in. i don't envy the committee in making selections!

Last year, 2013, 8 teams from the B1G went to the tourney. Michigan lost in 5 to LSU in the first round, the other 7 teams made it to the sweet 16. A team that finished only 1 game ahead of 6th made it to the championship. In 2012, 7 teams went to the tourney and 6 teams also made it to the sweet 16 with only Ohio State losing in the second round. The team that finished tied for 6th made it to the final four and could arguably be called the second best team that year. Since the tournament's main goal is to determine the NCAA champion, it seems like it would be a mistake to not invite a 6th team from the B1G this year since recent history implies that team has a legit shot at being the champion. While I generally agree with you, the bigger problem with that it is too subjective. When do you draw the line? How many players from those teams are still around? Was the middle of the Big 10 losing to teams like Virgina Tech, Arkansas, LIU Brooklyn, Louisville, Western Kentucky, St. Louis, Illinois State, and Ohio last year? Well they are this year. Look, I think many teams in the Big 10 are regional contenders, but this is how the game is played. They got the big bonus last year with great seeding and brackets, they didn't play the game very well this year, sorry. B1G teams often do get upset in the pre-conference season, but do extremely well in the NCAA tournament. why ? because they have just slugged it out, night in, night out in the toughest (or top 2) conference and have gotten a LOT better as a team playing at such a high level. Teams is lesser conferences (SEC) don't do as well in the NCAA tournament for the exact opposite reason. If you put 6 B1G teams in the NCAA tournament, I'd be surprised if at least 5 (and probably all 6) didn't make the sweet 16.

Without looking others up. Texas A&M beat USC, San Diego, Ohio, Iowa and the aformentioned Virginia Tech. losses to UTSA AND florida State twice of teams that would be in any discussion

I'm an ACC fan but I don't think Miami deserves a bid and I think the PAC deserves 9 (maybe 10). It's not about bias, this Miami team just hasn't done enough. It's not about manufacturing a better schedule (which was Pitt's problem), it's about winning against or at least pushing good teams, especially on the road. They've had chances to beat top 50 teams. 11-3 against the teams they've played is decent but if they have no wins against tournament teams, why do they deserve to be in.

SEC this year went 2-1 against Pac12.
Other than USC the Pac12 is ducking the confernece.
Kidding before anyone starts another argument.

Yeah, I think Pitt played their way out of the tournament this last weekend. It sucks that they lost Wynn, but the cards just didn't fall in their favor this season at the end. They do have what Miami doesn't, a top 50 (top 25 even) win.

I have been playing with geographical bracketing today and noticed you have UCF included in both your AQ and At-Large Bid lists. At this point in time, who would you add to the field from your "First Four Out" list? Pacific, Michigan State, Pittsburgh or Southern Methodist?

all the talk of Miami is irrelevant, if they are top 30, heck 35 RPI, they are in... I think a lot of Washington fans would like to see Miami sent to UW for early rounds (unlikely, of course) because of Keno & Tomasevic on the coaching staff.

But maybe Michigan State? It could also go to Lipscomb, W. Ky, Ohio, etc) Next week i'm going to make a whole bracket since most of the AQ's will be determined.
