FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 21 #5 Washington hosts #13 Arizona • 8:00 p.m. Alaska Airlines Arena TV: Live on Pac-12 Network LIVESTATSLet's shift the focus from the Stanford at UW match for now. Because if UW stumbles tonight against Arizona (or Sunday morning 11a against ASU - or, worse, stumbles twice) the Stanford match will be almost meaningless, other than giving Stanford a great road warm-up match to get ready for the tournament. On the other hand, if Washington can take care of business tonight and Sunday and play at their earlier level, the Stanford match could regain a little impact....especially if Stanford loses 1 or 2 at home this weekend (Colorado, Utah). Arizona is a good team. 21-7; 10-6 in the Pac. They just took Stanford to 5 sets in Palo Alto; and they beat Oregon and Oregon state. They've won 4 of their last 5, losing only that 5-setter at Stanford.

Arizona has trouble scoring some times, but they dig a ton of balls. UW will have to execute; if they start making errors this match could easily shift towards the 'Cats. AZ also has some size that could frustrate some of UW's hitters (who are used to just going over people, but UW will be in really good shape if they can match up Vansant over Snuka's block.

Interesting conflict for some UW fans tonight: UW MBB plays Seattle U. at 7p at Key Arena. One hour later, at 8p, UW WVB plays Arizona at Hec Ed.

Oregon VB actually gets MBB as an undercard at MKA. Early tip followed by volleyball. That plus some fraternity promotion means Ducks will have a pretty sizeable crowd tonight, probably largest of the season.

It's raining here at Kitsap county. Could rain prevent some fans from going to the match? Is it raining there?

I hope she's okay... her teammates need to give her a better pass. She's always running all over creation
