The TV broadcasters and many others have focused non-stop for weeks now on the 'Stanford at Washington' match that will occur Wednesday at 5p. The impact of that matchup has been greatly diminished by UW's two losses. But it's truly historic (in volleyball terms) for another reason.
It's Krista Vansant's final regular season and Pac-12 match at home.
A lot of UW fans have probably taken her for granted. And she makes every thing look so easy, sometimes you forget how dominant she is on the court. At crunch time she's almost automatic.
Tomasevic. Thompson. Morrison. Those were spectacular Washington players. And they were part of UW's only national title.
But Vansant has been a special force all four years of her career at Washington.
The Mayor should declare Wednesday 'Vansant Day' in Seattle.

I'll second that motion.
Fortunately for UW fans, we are going to see Krista again the first weekend of the tournament here at Hec Ed, and, one hopes, the Regional as well.

Just read this on GoHuskies.com
What makes that even more remarkable is the fact that when Tomasevic played, sets were to 30, not 25.
