Trojan Bracketology (2014)
American Athletic Conference Poor Temple. Temple was in sole possession of 2nd place this weekend, but lost to both Temple and Southern Methodist to put a 3-way tie for 2nd place.
Temple - proving the old adage "The only way we lose is by beating ourselves." LOL. Thanks for pointing that out, the first time I saw your post I thought you were referencing that Temple maybe had a lot of service or attack errors, or played poorly on their side. But now I get it. It should read lost to both TULSA and Southern Methodist.

Love the information. Not that it is a major point, but. Liberty's fall in the Big South was due to injury- lost the front-runner for POY (Douglas) and starting RS in the same weekend, the two accounted for over 60% of their offense. Coastal is playing very well and hopefully will represent the Big South well in the tourney. Thanks for the info, I had assumed something was going on at Liberty. Combining that with High Point playing well, it was just the end of a shocking downward spiral for Liberty.

Bakeer Ganes has made massiove gains in a short time and should be commended. This program is going somewhere.

I think it's a safe bet Bakersfield will board a bus to Stanford next week (and return the next day).

Lots of huge matches tonight.. Major bubble implications Tulsa @ SMU USC @ Arizona Major seeding implications Well SMU beat Tulsa. So if all this talk about RPI means anything, they merit a bid to the tournament if they end the season beating ECU.
And with Texas State, Rice and UTSA not making the post season, SMU to Austin for the opening rounds would be great. Would love to see them defeating A&M.
But my cynical side says not to trust the NCAA.

SMU (RPI 43) just defeated Tulsa (RPI 52) in 4 (25-15, 25-21, 24-26, 25-16).

SMU (RPI 43) just defeated Tulsa (RPI 52) in 4 (25-15, 25-21, 24-26, 25-16). Hope they make the tournament. We've had several Westlake / Austin Jr players play for SMU. 1 is currently on the team and 1 just signed her LOI for next season!

I think SMU is still on the bubble and closer to bubble out, than bubble in. It comes down to how their resume compares to the other teams contending for the last 3-4 positions in the tournament field.

If The American gets a second team it is obviously SMU at this point.
I think they get in. Only one bad non-conference loss on the road in the first match of the year, and no bad conference losses.
10-1 in their last 11 (should be 11-1 in their last 12 if they win at ECU Saturday) with the only loss a five-set loss at UCF.
We'll find out Sunday.

I don't think SMU gets in with all those Big Ten and WCC teams lurking on the bubble. There's just not enough meat beyond the win over Oklahoma.

Purdue goes down quietly in a sweep @ MSU. Pitt survives @ Louisville.
