Let's take a look. By my calculations, these are their scholarships for 2017:
Goehner Lohman Rosado Swenson McLean Pittman Morgan Kleinman
Assuming they have offered to Martin, that leaves 3 open and one probably needs to be a setter. Is it unreasonable to believe Hugh has other players in mind for those last 2?

...and how in that sentence do you see me saying there was an offer? HE NEVER offered them. That's my point Sherlock! He should have! Duh... That was your point? Why does Bond's recruiting dynamism enter into it then, Watson?

Came in to check out what was going on with Minnesota vball and see a Nebraska/PSU thread broke out. LOL My bad...If (R)uffda wants this silliness to continue we will do it via PM so we can spare everyone else the Agony... No bother to me......I just had to do a double-take to make sure what thread I was in.
Have any of you Minnesota fans had the opportunity to see 2017 recruit Kleinman from Texas yet?

OK. I'll start. Swenson's going to be better than Carlini.

You will like Kleinman. She is tall (6'2"), hits hard, and is a conscientious blocker. I don't know if her back row skills coming out of HS will be good enough to play 6 rotations, but she has two more years for development (would not be surprised if she is 6'3" in two years).

I have always liked SSS and think she will do great. Also (IMO) will have an impact in Wilhite turning the corner and playing to her capabilities.

The exchange of the past few pages of this thread amounts to rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic as long as Hugh remains. He's not cut out for recruiting and he doesn't like doing it. I imagine he'll give it a go for a while longer, and decide to cut loose sometime around, oh I don't know, 2016?

I agree - no matter how good a 15s team there is, you just wouldn't be successful keeping them all together in the Big Ten - no club team is that good.
So is Martin likely for the Gophers? Who else is she considering? If she is considered the top prospect of the group, then focusing on her isn't a bad idea (however, if they don't get the top prospect, and have a lot of needs for that year then they may regret not fishing deeper in their own pond)

16s. But your point is still valid.
volleyguy's? Not so much. He has it in for Hugh. Still don't know why.
Martin is considering Nebraska, for one.

He's a good person, actually, and a good coach for developed players. Not quite so for training and motivating young, developing athletes. Grandma's and parents will like him, but it's a harder sell for him to attract young players. For me, it's a question of understanding what he is and what he isn't, i.e. his strengths and weaknesses, which is true for anyone. Perhaps he isn't what you think he is or expect him to be.
