I hope you mean compliments Hugh's. I hope you mean "complements." LOL I mean a little bit of both (contrasting and complementing), I suppose. It's great when they complement each other well, but obviously we don't want to take that too far so new or different ideas are not introduced. I like him as a coach, but I get the idea that Hugh can maybe be a little bull-headed at times, so it's nice to have someone with her experience in there to give another perspective. That's really all I meant by this.

Hugh has never struck me as bull-headed, not in a negative sense anyhow. Heck, look at all the things he tried last year.
Benzing has been a successful coach of middles and a successful recruiter. I think both of those things are pluses for this program.

Does anyone think we will need to bring in another defensive specialist for the upcoming fall (even a walk-on)? We have Rosado, potentially Goehner, depending on how she is used, and that's it. Not sure that we need one, but it does seem to be a slim department at the time being.

Is it almost time to start complaining that there's been no communication about spring dates? Anyone heard anything? With the trip, will there still be a spring tourney here?

Yes, the team banquet is on Saturday, January 31st and they usually have the Spring Schedule out and sometimes the OOC schedule but doubtful. If we get our hands on it will post to this thread.

The Minnesota class of 2017 is loaded with talent. prep volleyball.com has 4 Mn girls in the final 30 for sophomore of the year (I don't want to name them as not sure if Tawa would appreciate that) Pay the 3 bucks a month and get prepvolleyball.com I would think some of these Mn 2017 would be committing soon.... And Gophers needs to land some of these girls. Wisconsin has 3 verbal commitments from this list of 30 sophomores. Time for the Gophers to get some momentum going on class of 2017.

Speaking of paying fees (previous post), I am curious about BTN Plus. I decided to forego it this past season, but am considering it for the upcoming.
In your experiences, Gopher fans, is it worth it? I realistically will probably make it to anywhere from 3-6 home matches depending on different scenarios. (Hopefully it will be many more, but just being realistic with work and school obligations.) The rest I just generally follow on Gametracker/Live blog.

I may not be a Gopher fan when my 'skers play you guys, but I'll take a stab at answering your question: Yes, it's completely worth the $15 per month fee, especially if you want to check out their home or away games that you can't see in person. The fee also allows you to catch other teams from around the conference. If you watch at least 4 matches/month, that averages to $3.75/game, which is well worth the cost for 90 minutes of entertainment. As the years have progressed, so has the streaming quality. Last season, most matches streamed in HD.
