I heard it was Annika Olsen, a libero/ds transfer from Georgia Tech. I expected her to transfer after she lost the libero job to London Ackermann. Hopefully she will be happier with playing time.

And it looks like they lost the starting setter from last year Kaylee Smith Yeah, she announced her transfer shortly after the Loxley Keala transfer was confirmed. Does anyone know where she tranferred to?

Interesting about the latest commitment. Wouldn't be surprised for it to be experienced libero since Fugarino is no longer on the roster. So maybe the GA Tech libero referenced is correct? Recruits/transfers I'm aware of: 2015 Loxley Keala - S (Missouri) Ashley Mariani - OH/MB (Tennessee) Reagan Davey - OH Reghan Coyle - RS Molly Kelly - L/DS Libby Koukol - L/DS 2016 Sandra Mohr - MB Cali Hoye - OH Erin Slinde - S Emily Bushman - L/DS 2017 Claire Sheehan - OH Brie Orr - S Halle Johnston - L/DS Any idea where Fugarino went? Always enjoyed watching her in club.

Is it unusual for a program to make so many changes in a short amount of time?

Is it unusual for a program to make so many changes in a short amount of time? Not when they hire a new coach and want the program to get better quickly

Bond building Iowa's competitiveness is a major boon for Nebraska as their travel partner. Hopefully, the days of opponents spending 95% of their time preparing/scouting for UNL is coming to an end. A stronger Iowa will make for a more successful Nebraska.
Plus, good for Iowa, they've been struggling far too long.

I don't care for Iowa...but if you're Iowa's coach--you do everything to hype your program if you are serious about finishing higher than 10th in the Big Ten.

I don't care about Iowa at all, simply saw the Tweet. So social media and hype are what help all of the big time B1G programs succeed? I don't recall ever seeing Russ, Cook, Sheffield, Shondell, Hugh, Carlston, George, Rosen, etc., etc. saying "the Big Ten better look out". They just go out and do it. They are "hype" for their program, not making statements or predictions. And yes, I guarantee most of the other B1G programs noticed that Iowa said "The Big Ten better look out".

Of the B1G coaches I know, none have in the past spent such a large proportion of their preparation time on Nebraska and so little on Iowa. At one program there has been more of an emphasis on preparing for Iowa because Iowa is viewed as a "must win" while Nebraska is not. At two other programs, preparation for *both* matches is as thorough as for any other conference matches. I doubt Iowa getting better will change much in how teams prepare.

Most schools haven't seen Iowa as "must win" as much as "obvious win," thus the lack of preparation. Moreover, the more talented Iowa is, the more physical and mental strain it will put on teams to actually beat them. You don't think that positively affects Nebraska? For example, if Nebraska is facing a team like Illinois who just had to go 5 sets with a tough Iowa, their probability of winning likely improves.
It's undeniable that having a strong travel partner is better than having a pushover. Nebraska will certainly benefit if Bond gets Iowa much more competitive than they've been in the past.

With the way the Big 10 schedule is going with fewer back-to-back matches and more made-for-TV midweek matches there is more time to prepare between matches and the travel partner becomes less important. I also think the multiple days in between games favors the home teams even more as they are not having to deal with two separate trips per week.

So they rolled their eyes and moved on. I suggest you do the same. You're taking this far too seriously.

Regarding the impact all these changes will have on Nebraska... Maybe we should wait to see what kind of impact it has on Iowa first.
