Why when Russ clears roster space for transfers or big commitments is it considered counterculture and unethical, but when Bond apparently does the same with 2 or 3 transferring out and about the same transferring in in less than a month's time it is considered reshaping the program and celebrated? I honestly don't have a bold opinion on either - I just find it odd that there is such a stark difference in perception.

Much longer leash for house cleaning when a coach takes over a program and begins to establish their own culture with their own players.

Teams will worry about Iowa until they start winning. Nobody cares about the social media talk. That's all it is talk. Prove something first.
So they may compete against northwestern now. Believe they have a long way to go to be a threat in the top tier of that conference.

I love the enthusiasm, but you might want to ease up on the "look out Big Ten" comments until you have a few years under your belt in this meat-grinder. Beating Purdue and getting a handful of wins vs. the bottom-feeders doesn't mean you can go mouthing off on social media. But I assume all of the Bond-ites out there will stand up for him and say it's harmless. I'm curious as to how you think it's harmful. Is he supposed to say "we still stink"? How do you suppose he's going to build a program if he's not showing some enthusiasm and confidence?

So PSU didn't do this as far as you know?

According to certain people on this board, if your team isn't a top team, you can have pride and say watch out. Because I can assure you if it was PSU who was saying this or some other top team, they wouldn't be saying that.

Stanford and psu don't do that with their recruits.

Bonds comments were just propping up his team.

Just wondering why I've never seen rose or dunning prop up their recruits like that. Is it because they don't need to? Just wondering.

I don't care for Iowa...but if you're Iowa's coach--you do everything to hype your program if you are serious about finishing higher than 10th in the Big Ten. Finishing 10th in the Big Ten in 2014 is better than it was in 2004.

Didn't say anything bad. Watching off seasons it see so many coaches tweet stuff. Picturing rose as a tweeter is a very funny image. Don't think rose tweets. He may not know what a tweet is. He does wear sweaters from the 80s. Lol

Tell you what, he can wear parachute pants and dance to can't touch this and it be fine as long as he keeps winning championships. Rose in parachute pants. Get that image in your head. Rotfl
