Accorfing to cindy, Megan huff will be on basketball schollie, so a player will be taking her scholarship and they are working on the paperwork right now I thought that under NCAA rules, if a player plays two Division I sports, that player must receive her scholarship for the sport deemed "major, " which in this case is basketball. This means both Megan Huff and Kalei Adolpho were under basketball scholarships. I said this several times before. After seeing Huff play in just her 1st basketball match in December, I saw her as a potential All-American (honorable mention, however) by the time she is a junior or senior. She is an exceptional basketball talent; her coach and teammates agree with me with her vast potential. In my opinion, she should stick strictly to basketball. Agree LanaiBoy. Beeman is not going to lend her to the volleyball team for half the bb season. Her quote "We're going to keep her".

the three tournaments UCLA, American, Iowa; Oregon State, Wichita State (forget the third, wasn’t a huge name); and Florida, San Diego State and Eastern Washington. Pretty decent schedule. Not a lot of huge names, but some solid in rpi That Florida match will be HUGE. Might be the UH's only chance for a Top 25 RPI win (basic prerequisite for a seed and hosting privileges). i agree. this might end up being a decent "RPI schedule" ... but not so great for seeding. besides florida, maybe ucla is in the top 25 of RPI. they lose lowe (which is a huge loss), but also return a lot of players. maybe wichita st? ... if they're having an 'up' year. oregon st had an RPI in the 30s last year ... so it's conceivable they could make a leap to the 20s. all this, of course, is dependent on schedules and how these teams perform. long beach st had an RPI in the 20s last year, but they look to be rebuilding this year a little, after not just losing players to graduation, but seeing some transfers out in this off-season. so yes, florida may be the only certain RPI top 25 team, unfortunately.

Agreed. Will result in a solid raw RPI but won't check all of the committee's boxes. The PAC will be down, which will hurt both UCLA and OSU beyond personnel losses (OSU got hit very hard by graduation). You need to hope UCLA is much better than expected but also not good enough to beat you - a fine line to walk. The MVC isn't what it once was - Illinois St. swept it and couldn't get into the RPI Top 40, so Wichita will struggle to get up there. UCSB may offer some hope in the Big West. I think they could be pretty good with Ruddins.

Actually, UCSB's entire 2015 recruiting classs (Ruddins, a tall lefty setter from San Diego, and an OH from Indiana - all on the Senior Aces list) is pretty intriguing. As for Ruddins v. Ruddins, I might very well be in the minority here when I say that Lindsey (UCSB) has the tools to make a bigger impact collegiately than Elise.

I agree, but the fact that Lindsey isn't going to be playing for a high profiled team might impede her impact nationally. As far as her team and the Big West goes, she will definitely make a huge impact. It's going to be exciting to watch the UCSB outsides this upcoming season.

Lets say Elise never committed to USC and both committed to UCSB. Who would be the better player/impact player now. Certainly Elise playing on loaded USC team in the pac12 lessens her chance to be that impact player.

Elise is just a power hitter. Doesn't really have any shots, and her back row has much to be desired. Lindsey makes a bigger impact. Elise being in a high profiled gym brings more attention to her, Lindsey won't get the same attention at USCB.

I guess I assumed elise would be ranked higher since she was the number 2 recruit of her class, while I believe lindsey was in the 20's. And elise came from a loaded class that had players like ebony, carlini, the rolfzens, etc. But Im excited to see UCSB next year. They should give Hawaii a run for their money

It's a UC Irvine player coming in ?to take Huffs scholarship... Where are you getting this information? I thought according to conference rules if you transfer from one to a another Big West team you need to sit out a year.
