since indoor players double on the roster for sand, it seems to make sense to have the indoor coach oversee the operations of Sand Hawaii isn't cheap like Long Beach, they actually offer scholarships for Sand only players. I believe only Taylor will be playing both indoor and sand this year. lol, actually I think there is a benefit to the indoor program by not having schollies for sand - can possibly get some indoor players that want a good shot at playing both indoor and sand gotta pick one's battles I guess no question LB has to make financial considerations in everything they do - don't want to run massive athletic deficits like some other schools

No offense to Ah Mow-Santos, but does she does not have the proven recruiting/connections that Sealy and Wong established at their previous schools. Hawaii needs someone that can recruit. Sealy and Wong brought in great classes for Hawaii. Don't think Ah Mow-Santos has that right now... And no offense to Ali Longo, but Hawaii can do better than elevating someone like her right away. Well what "good" coach in their right mind would re-locate to Hawaii as an associate coach knowing Dave will probably be gone in 2 years?

Can't wait to see the wahine play Florida. Holston and allahassn are amazing, Snyder and mallete were good as well. I expect a dog fight.

Yea what coach would want to live in Hawaii for 2-3 years and improve their resumes in the process. What a tough Gig. Shojis last two associate coaches have gone on to pretty major head coaching jobs as well.

Florida loses their backcourt this season and Hawai'i will be a good serving team next season. It'll be interesting to see what happens next season between the Wahine and Gators.

Was next years schedule released? No, but in an article earlier this month, Shoji talked about next years pre-season tournaments and mentioned Florida, Oregon State, and UCLA among a few.

Wouldn't be surprised if Pepperdine is going to be on UH's schedule every season from now on.

Wouldn't be surprised if Pepperdine is going to be on UH's schedule every season from now on. A good recruiting tool for Wong and a trip home to reunite with his Hawaii family. Scott mentioned that he won't touch the recruits that UH is pursuing or "steal" any player from the current team. We heard you Scott, good luck in Malibu.

I am sure they will be battling for the same recruits in a few years though.

I don't think Wong needs to steal recruits from Hawaii. At Pepperdine, he'll be exposed to a whole new universe of recruits that are mutually exclusive from the ones he was used to at Hawaii. As Shoji has said many times, he goes after recruits that have some nexus with Hawaii (either the state or the university). Wong's sales pitch will be completely different: private school academically strong school situated next to a beach in Malibu, which is near all that's great about the Los Angeles area situated in California beautiful campus Christian school Of course, he can't pitch: the volleyball ohana the thousands of loyal crowds at the arena (vs. a gym at Pepperdine) Hawaii paradise (vs. all that's terrible about the Los Angeles area) the media and TV exposure He will meet and recruit some of the best talent in the mainland. All he has to do is close the deal.

So Annie Mitchem becomes the 2nd player ever to win national player of the year, 2 year college level. If she's that good, why isn't there any good videos of her on youtube? So anxious to see how good she really is. It stated by the ncaa that she's a rare 6 rotation player as a middle blocker. Anyone care to share your thoughts on Annie?
