I have had BYU as the underdog favorite in this bracket since the beginning. Mary Pollmiller did something she hasn't done all season last night and that was set the middle. This freed up her Outsides and Opposites, she ran a very complete offense. Nebraska has shown the inability to win consistently and play at that high of a level in back to back matches it will be interesting to see if they can win tonight. I personally see BYU advancing they have two guns in Hamson and Gray should be entertaining I have BYU in 4.

I've only seen BYU play once this year (Washington) and that was a long time ago. How does Hamson compare to McMahon?[/quote Hamson is a 6-rotation player and moves really well for a 6'7 right side hitter. In a nutshell Hamson is a Stud and take care over a match like she did last night against FSU. It's hard to slow her down.

BYUs block is impressive but Nebraska is the better ball control team. Nebraska will have to be effective on attack behind the setter. Perhaps last night was a breakthru in confidence for Nebraska's setter who has been hesitant to set the middle. If the Huskers can set 50% to the middle, right side, and setter attacks I think they are in a great position to win.

As always with Nebraska, it's on Mary. If she sets well (location, tempo, and decisions) then Nebraska wins. If not, BYU. Pretty simple. This depends on passing... And passing depends on serve receive. People need to get over the regression argument. Setting isn't merely a product of passing. Good passing helps but bad sets can be made from good passes and vice versa. Mary frequently turns good passes into terrible sets. Again, it'll likely be on her setting not receiving, passing, etc.

Which Jerseys will we be wearing, considering it will be a neutral court?

I think the higher seed hosts.
Or are they both unseeded? I forget.
In that case... Coin toss?

What an odd starting time. 8:30 PM is a mere 30 minutes before senior citizen bedtime.

One spot left. Who's it gonna be? One match away from being all the big name programs if Nebraska wins. No first timers

As I get older when my team gets knocked out I lose a lot of interest idk why I love the sport. Just wish this match would start all ready 11pm east now...but it's always like that for the last one anyways.
