I was going on the report that, after the sweet 16 (56 matches), Pablo was ahead of VT 51 - 50. As far as I know in the elite 8, everyone else got BYU and Penn St wrong. So that puts Pablo up by 3. Aah , I didn't count VT! So you were correct. So if my math is right, Pablo has clinched the best record for the tournament this year. The only question remaining is by how much. Yes, Pablo has clinched. Worst case scenario for Pablo is if Stanford beats Texas in the Final, then: Pablo 53/63 VT 52/63 RichKern 51/63 RKPI 48/63 AVCA 47/60 If PSU wins, then: Pablo 55/63 VT 50/63 (the 5 point margin you indicated) RichKern 49/63 (the 6 point margin that I thought) RKPI 49/63 (48/63 if BYU in final instead of Texas) AVCA 45/60 Pablo has 55 right already. The 51 was before the elite 8. Pablo went 4/4 in the elite 8

The 51 was before the elite 8. Pablo went 4/4 in the elite 8 That's because I am using the PTW basis (standard for bracket contest), versus your using the match by match basis. For example, the Seattle Regional Final of 45. Nebraska v. BYU, Pablo probably favors BYU and BYU won, but PTW counts Pablo's pick to be Washington (therefore counted as wrong), not BYU as a result of Washington's loss to Nebraska. There is probably one more case like that, hence the discrepancy of 2 ... probably one of these 2nd round matches: 10. Oregon State v. UALR 26. Kentucky v. Ohio State

Here's an idea, eliminate the NCAA Tournament and have Pablo determine the national champion. Then all the NCAA has to do is ship the trophy to the winning school.

Final count out of 63 matches:
Pablo, an outstanding 57 out of 63.
Rich Kern Poll of select fans, 53.
AVCA poll of coaches, 51.
Bringing up the rear.
RPI, 47. Missing 10 matches more than Pablo.

That would stop all the whining about a "Cinderella" making the final and not providing an entertaining enough final for VTers with nothing else to do.

Yep, Pablo nailed it with BYU and Penn St. Notice that BYU got to the final four without pulling off a Pablo upset (there win over TX in the semis was a slight upset (7 over 5)). There are teams like this in Pablo on occasion, but they don't always live up to the billing. Penn St, however, is an absolute case where Pablo just was right and the others were wrong. There was no question Penn St was the best team in the country this year, if you looked at the right things.

I think a healthy Carlini would have made the quarterfinal match much more interesting, but not much doubt otherwise.
