Didn't UCLA win the national championship in 1991 over Long Beach State with Natalie Williams and Elaine Youngs? Yes. Through ~1994 the final poll was released before the championship matches were played. I didn't worry about that much since my original comment referred to their rankings over the past 10 years and 1990 - 1994 were out of that range. If you want to adjust based on the championship matches for those years. 0; 1994 Pre-season 2, final poll 3. (NCAA 2nd place) -2 -> -3; 1993 Pre-season 4, final poll 1. (Lost in regional semis) -1; 1992 Pre-season 1, final poll 1. (NCAA 2nd place) 0; 1991 Pre-season 1, final poll 6. (NCAA champions) 0; 1990 Pre-season 1, final poll 1 (NCAA champions)

Who's up next this weekend for Long Beach? Oh, right... UC Riverside... oooooooooohhhh! yawn... I'll be impressed if LBSU takes a game off San Diego. Hey IB, even with the young, inexperienced, team that we have we're better than your friggin Idaho potato eaters!

Hey Potato Head, IF I were you(which I am glad I am not BTW) I don't think that I would get too excited about criticizing the teams that LBS will play for the rest of the season.....since Hawaii's conference is a total joke, and since all non-conference games are being played in the friendly confines of SSC, you would be well served by keeping your mouth shut on this subject....pot callin the kettle black?

Aren't all of the Beach's non-conference matches being played in the friendly confines of the Pyramid? As I read it, the first 10 LBSU matches of the season are played there. In fact, 23 of the Beaches 32 matches are played at home.

Hawaii plays Utah and Utah State on the road in non-conference matches. LBSU plays no one on the road in non-conference matches. Hawaii has already played ~5 ranked non-conference opponents with more on their schedule. LBSU plays what, 2 ranked non-conference opponents for the entire season?

I must have struck a nerve... two replies to the same thread! Perhaps the truth does hurteth? As far as the Idaho comment: We will see. As far as the Hawaii comment: As others have mentioned, at least Hawaii has the cojones to schedule tough on a "rebuilding" year. How many years does it take Long Beach to rebuild, anyway?

Now... were they (Hawaii) played on their home court? That's the question. How about a non-biased location. Or, at least not on their homecourt. I wonder how many matches they win then? I seriuously don't believe that Hawaii would win as many matchees as they have if they were not always on their homecourt, with the homecourt advantage (their screaming fans!) and their biased refs. Oh, no I'm not bitter about the game with ucla and hawaii!!! Just disappointed....
