Also, Sydney Hilley is one of the 25 Underclassmen to Watch.

Also, Sydney Hilley is one of the 25 Underclassmen to Watch. I'm not one to pay much attention to these lists, but UW is getting 12 percent of the top 50 recruits. Wow. So, Julia Saunders stock seems to be rising, no? What was really great for me is to see her and McDonald's name on that list.

I was concerned about her having been injured for most of the high school season, but it sounds like she's doing well in club.

Starts to put Fric's decision into some context.

That is an impressive number. I also do not put too much emphasis on these list. Many of the lists in my opinion are made up based somewhat on what big schools they are committed to. I know these girls are very talented but I would imagine the odds would show less than 75% are going to pan out.

I wonder why Fricano red shirted?

I wonder why Fricano red shirted? Development. She didn't start playing until her freshman year of HS. She had a lot of talent, but needed to catch up on the fundamentals.

Best of luck to Taylor. I think she'll be able to be a goto player at a different program. Lots of potential at 6-4 with good hops. Interested to see where she ends up and how her career pans out.
I think this decision is a good choice for both parties. With Kriskova cementing down the rightside and so much talent coming in next year, it wasn't looking promising for Fricano to nab a starting spot. Then again, I thought the same thing about Morales who ended up being a go to hitter on a runner up team, and I thought Bates was going to ride the pine behind Graff/Morales/Chapman on the outside and she'll most likely be a 4 year starter. Badgers should still have good depth for next year: S-Carlini, back up Juley and UCLA transfer OH-Duello and Bates, back up Saunders and Morgan MB-Nelson and Williams, backup Morgan and Blake RS-Kriskova, backup Morgan L-Morey DS-McDonald, back up other freshman (I'm blanking on her name).
Wisconsin's frontline will look immensely different next year, but they should be in good shape if they endure an injury or two. Most importantly, this also frees up a scholarship for 2016 or 2017.

You'd think there would be more animosity if Fricano were being pushed out too. Everybody seems to be falling over each other to say nice things. Why would Fricano take part in that if she felt she were being pushed out? Doesn't add up. I can imagine that once it became clear Fric would need to go elsewhere that Sheff would start shopping for someone who could compete for time. I also like the idea of having in state players, but the way you keep the best recruits in state is to have success. (FWIW...PSU had 3 in state players last year, all DS's.) So far it seems to have worked getting Dodge and Whalen to sign on. I really hope that schools and clubs in Wisconsin can use the success of UW to build their programs again. If I were Sheff I would be thinking about how to build a strong VB community in state, with UW at the hub. Sheff could sell potatoes to a farmer. That's what he does and he is very good at it. He is going to put some very talented teams together very quickly.

I should note you don't know him. Never met him. Never talked to anyone he has ever recruited.

This seems to be a new meme on several threads...Sheffield the potato salesman. We'll see if it takes the internet by storm.
EDIT...Given Northwood's comment I should have said potatoe salesman.
