First of all, you schedule a group of bottom tier Division I teams and then you run the score up on them. This makes absolutely zero sense to me, but I am not a coach - just a volleyball fan.

They do this year and year out - they will be fine.

Just wondering why Penn doesn't make headlines with players' individual stats. With some of the teams they are facing, giving little or no challenge (except for Stanford) they seem to be running up high scores. I heard next opponents are the World Wheelchair champs, then the National Blind All Stars.

Penn? Or Penn State... neither get much play here because noone really follows them that is vocal enough to fill us in. The Big Ten crowd will chime in during conference season on them, but more against than for, I'm afraid.
Most of us never get the opportunity to see them because they are stuck playing patsy schedule for a top ten team in the east.
I know that I would like to see them play.

Can you really say that the teams PSU has played in their non-conference schedule this year than some of the other wel known / ranked teams?
LBSU hasn't played much of anyone and they've played all of their matches at home.
Hawaii has played some tough teams, but again they've played all of their matches at home.
Russ, Dave, and Brian are the one's that know their teams the best and schedule how they think will best allow their teams to improve before the conference matches.
They've each had considerable success over the years so its tough to really argue with the methods of their madness.

I think that PSU is on ESPN2 at least once this season, although I could be wrong. If you want the perspective of one of their fans, though, you won't get it from me. I respect their program a lot, but they are the team that I want the Badgers to beat the most, mainly because of their dominance in the series and the fact that they were the dominant Evil Empire when I started watching volleyball. PSU did play at Stanford last week, in a tournament that would have been really tough last year, but the opposition was a little down.

High scores? In volleyball, you can only score up to 30 and win by 2. You can score more than 30 but the other team is behind you by 2. We can't win 112-0.

In rally-score, if you're the receiving team, you can win by 1 point. 1 real point. I'd like to see how often this happens. In game 5, seems like that's a huge advantage.
