B1G gets 5 teams in the top 13. Big falloff after that. Not sure what that means, if anything.

Washington also beat 2,3,4. Just at the wrong time of the year...and, of course, without their top setter. Be careful Tomclem. The internet does not forget. It was Washington fans who have been most vocal that PSU fans are deluded for thinking the Oregon semi might have turned out differently if Micha had not been injured. No need to lead with your chin. I don't speak for or represent Washington fans. I've never said a word about Micha's injury in that match. You're stretching to make some connection that doesn't exist.

BYU #3. I'm okay with that. I'm assuming a closer final would probably put them at 2. Que sera. Washington at #9. Not sure about that. But they will be pre season top 10 I'm sure.

The PAC having nine teams in Top 25 is pretty nice. But I think the BIG having five in Top 13 is pretty nice too--maybe a little more impressive even. I used to think that the PAC was the best conference in vb. But after last few years, I realize that the BIG is equally as good, and sometimes has better years than the PAC. So now, rather than focusing my attention on how good the PAC is, I am instead excited about what a great rivalry there is between these two great conferences. Great stuff, if you ask me.
As for the final rankings: I do think that Florida is better than Texas; but since Texas made the final four, you could argue it either way. Doesn't really matter, as others have suggested. Florida will be great next year, and will settle in to their correct spot in the Top Ten.
Washington should not complain either. I thought they were the best team in nation--up until the point where they got crushed at home by underdog Nebraska. They deserve their position. They did not make elite 8, thus should not be Top 8. Injury to a setter or other player does not factor in to rankings; you are either good enough to win or you're not. They don't say "well, they played like crap and got crushed; but they have a good reason for sucking, so let's rank them high." I hope they find a way to make it to the top again next year. They still have some great players.

Stanford should be favorite next year with that 2012 class being seniors.

Does anyone remember when Florida beat Texas at Texas the final weekend of regular season? No? Neither do the voters. That game got buried. Never on TV except briefly on LHNetwork. not considered in the RPI or seeding. Still, six in the final poll is good considering the four losses.

I like the inclusion of Arkansas-Little Rock. Good for them. Little Rock, jump on it, jump on it, jump on it

Yeah...I wouldn't call it crushed. But it is true that the coaches don't typically play hypotheticals. It looks to me like most coaches just tried to find a rating that placed Nebraska over Washington, but kept the Elite 8 teams together. Taking their season as a whole I thought Washington deserved better.

Texas should be #4. They made the FF and are a very good ball club. Southern Cal out of the top 25 for the 1st time in Mick's 14 year reign makes sense as a .500 ball club. But they finished 27th ->

Anything to elicit a response from you! LOL Washington unexpectedly lost, and I was crushed. Same difference.
