When will the 2015 freshman be on campus and when can they start officially practicing? I can't wait for the season to begin. They will only be coming on campus around August. They all decided to play their final year of club volleyball. Naya is also coming in August. A litle late IMO, wish they came a littel earlier.

Surprising pick for recruiting class rankings, but based on the explanation, I can buy into it. I think Poulter will be a game changer for Illinois. I am suprised myself. I thought Wisconsin and Texas would have been ahead of us, especially because their recruits rank high. I was suprised we got picked first mostly because Beth Prince was ranked low. I guess they really saw how Poulter is going to change the dynamic of Illinois, which I can not wait to see this next season.

I'm obviously biased, but I would pick this class over any other class coming in this year. In her position as setter, Poulter is the cream of the crop and arguably the best player in the class. Bastianelli is a consensus top 10 player. Prince is one of the top outside hitters in this class and would have been a top 10 player if she hadn't been injured. The future looks so bright, I have to wear sunglasses. Molly, come on down and join the fun!
Congrats to Kevin and his staff!

That was quick! I look forward to watching ya'll next year. Jordyn to Birks! Will be a fun, talented team that I hope challenges and beats Penn and Neb - (but not wisconsin though.) ;-) B10 is going to be stacked for the next few years.

These releases always mentions players choosing a school "over" other schools, even if the school didn't offer her. It should read "was also recruited by......." unless she was offered by the schools mentioned. Actually, it shouldnt even mention other schools IMO. I am sure she is a terrific player, and Illinois is doing a great job of recruiting. They are going to be awfully good.

Congratulations to Hambly and his staff on obtaining the #1 recruiting class. I think this will only help the Illinois recruiting classes of the future.
By the way, Naya tweeted today that she will be in Illinois in 2 weeks.

Really wished Poulter wasnt coming so late. Although I can see her getting adjusted very quickly. I think this is the year Illinois can really exceed. They get an elite setter and a returning AA 2nd team outside hitter. I'm really excited what Naya can do to this team. She more of an offensive hitter rather than defense. So I worry about that a bit. I think Liz was a great blocker for us. Though I do see it balancing out because I believe Poulter is a better blocker than Alexis. I think If Poulter and Naya get a connection, I think that would be a deadly offensive mix in Birks I think that team is well off.

Jordyn will gain more from competing at GJNC's for her club team as well as with the Women's Junior National Team (arrghhh NOT at the U20 Worlds but still training in Europe) then she would from working the Illini summer VB camp and any open gym time she could engage in with her teammates. She'll report on August 8, I'm guessing, and be ready to get after it on August 9 when staffs and players can begin training. She will be fantastic.

Just watched some of Beth Prince club tape from last year and IMO she's definitely a high error player (hopefully no longer) and I don't know if she will benefit the team as much as I thought she would. I know this was her time where she was injured, but I'm not sure. Hopefully she's grown smarter, if not I think she'll be seeing a lot of her time on the bench. She's just not a B1G OH or Right Side. Most of her hits were dug quite easily. I worry when Birks graduates. Theres gonna be a huge hole in the OH position. Sure Strizak will be there but she would only have one season under her belt as a starter. Hoping 2016 OH are a huge impact on this team.

I have watched her multiple times since she has been at her new club, Munciana. She is much improved since her days at Circle City. I can't remember who they were playing the last time I watched (maybe SPRI) but her hits were not being dug easily. She didn't get a lot of playing time on that Circle City team and the Munciana switch has been really good for her. As long as she stays healthy, I think she'll be a big Illini contributor. Quade is also on that team but I haven't seen her play.

I think Prince has the ability to do good things later in her career. I'm not sure if she will impact the team early in her career IMO.
