Isn't she a junior, class of 2016? Why would she be on the senior Aces? I didn't think that Tawa ranked juniors, but maybe he does and I never noticed. Prep VB does rank Juniors. In the Class of 2016, she isn't among the 50 top rated athletes, nor in the next group of 35 so her Twitter account must be referencing some other ranking. She was definitely part if the top 50 juniors for prepvolleyball...

Here's to hoping she has a great Senior year and college career for the Illini, regardless of what list she does or doesn't appear on!!!

I think this coming up season should be a really good one for this team, and should have a good run in the tournament. Hopefully Ali can connect with Poulter and be better than Dorn. I know Stadick and Ali are going to be a lot more productive with Poulter now in the picture. As well I think the team will be more balanced. Less attempts from Birks and get the team going as a whole.

Just wondering, does anyone think Birks has a chance to have a career on the national team?

Just wondering, does anyone think Birks has a chance to have a career on the national team? I was thinking the same thing. Although I don't think she's even considering to play club after she graduates (or atleast she's never made it public). When asked in a interview she said after graduation she would want to be a elementary school teacher. So I mean if she's not playing club then theres no real hope for national teams.

It's crazy how Beth's injury got her ranked so low. I was looking at older post and they thought she would be a top 5 recruit, and a lot of people were sad that she did not choose Texas. She was such a highly recruited player two years ago and now she isnt even ranked top 25. Maybe that low rank will make her have a chip on her shoulder. I think a redshirt year would really help her get better from her injusry and ease herself slowly to college volleyball.

Just wondering, does anyone think Birks has a chance to have a career on the national team? No chance. [br How can you say no chance to a player that has led her team constantly for three years 500+ kills every season with a sub par setter. She's an all around player with a effective jump float serve and second on the team in digs I have never seen an interview so I don't know what her intentions might be but if she wanted to and has a dominant year with an elite setter i wouldn't write her off. I know when they played us at home last year she alone dominated an entire set . I think with the right setter she will improve exponentially .

She's a nice college player. Athletically she's not close to the National Team level. This isn't a tough evaluation. Ask her college coach.

Compared to Kelsey Robinson, Megan Hodge, Jordan Larson, even Karsta Lowe, Birks isn't really on their level.

I'll assume that means no you haven't talked to her coach and that's just another vtalk opinion then.

I did so because as you probably know he has plenty of experience with the National Team system. She's a very good college player. That's not an insult.
