Title IX is a tough obstacle to overcome. If they add a new men's program, the university would likely have to add a new woman's sport. How many states have boys high school volleyball as a sport? If there were more college programs, it is likely that there would be more interest at the high school level. But if there isn't much interest at the high school level in an area there wouldn't be much support at the college level at a lot of colleges.

I believe Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee has (or at least recently had) a female head coach. They still do, Natalie Wildes.

I believe the PSU-Behrend men's team plays the setter up defense. They got a fair amount of touches off attacks but they were rarely ever able to counter attack.

The article lost credibility with me as soon as I came on the section on profitability. It said that Nebraska is the only program that makes a profit and that Hawaii and Penn State have the potential to money. This is so laughable. Hawaii has been the only program in the nation that makes a profit year after year. Only recently has Nebraska made money.
