Whalen is a solid athletic all-around player I have seen often. Her team uses her as their primary attacker and she is very effective at this level. The only question will be how her size translates at the BIG level. Loberg is a strong attacker as well, but I was amazed at how she moved in the back row. She played all around and was so fluid on defense that you forgot she was 6'3". Rettke is all of 6"7" as reported and moves laterally very well. She opened the match I saw with a slide kill that had the crowd let out a collective "Holy $*&%!" She throws up an elbows over the net block, serves well, but does not play back row after that. did you (or anyone else) happen to catch Brooke Morgan? How did she look? recovered from her injury? As I mentioned on the Wisconsin 2015 thread, Brooke looked very very good. Her hitting when she got the set went down more often than not. Her middle blocking was very good and she appeared to be moving just fine. She also served and did not appear to be a liability in the back row before the libero came in. Laterally she seemed to be a little slow though when moving left or right for double blocks, do not think that has anything to do with her injury though. No braces on but she did have a strip of KT Tape on her right thigh.

Done and done.

Bigger question is "who was defending her? Where did Brooke's team finish in the tournament. How many Big Ten-like middles did she match-up with?
