GREAT WIN BOWS! Let's work hard to get that two game sweep! LBSU will come out hungry tomorrow night. But you guys got this. I'm surprised Hartley didn't see the court tonight. And if he did.....he wasn't in there long.

And if he did.....he wasn't in there long. I noticed that as well. I was wondering why he wasn't given a shot in place of Sedore who struggled all night. If I'm not mistaken Sedore hit negative or .000, it wouldn't have hurt to have Hartley, or Mol, take a few shots in the front row. I think Wade is set that this will be the line-up that will get Hawaii far into the tournament..

Finally saw Hawaii play in person, last night (and will again tonight) and clearly Hawaii was a better team both defensively and offensively last night! I was truly impressed with Averill and back-up setter Alex Jones. He definitely was a spark plug that Hawaii needed since Franciskovic somewhat struggled last night along with Brook Sedore. He even tried to get his teammates on the bench to make some noise, and be excited for the players on the court. Hawaii libero Kanetake outplayed Windisch. But Windisch is one of the primary passers for LBSU, where Hawaii's passing relied heavily on Zarkovic and Fey. I see now why Fey is a starter because he does take a lot of the passes along with Zarkovic. But overall offensive output of Fey is just ok, nothing flashy. Our defense especially our Blocking truly frustrated both OPP La Rusch (total stud) and Cody Martin. La Rusch is truly an explosive OPP for LBSU. I was hoping Wade would have given Hendrik Mol or Hartley some playing time since Sedore struggled last night. Plus, Hendrik Mol is very easy on the eyes. ;-) LOL

from the write up in the local paper this morning ... it sounds like hartley was suffering from flu-like symptoms. lucky that zarkovic was well enough to play. hawaii's depth has been critical this season.

GREAT SWEEP by the Men of War!!!! This road wins were much needed and keeps them on pace with the upper half of the conference. Next weeks series with Pepperdine will be HUGE! The crowd needs to show up in mass and the boys need to be ready for a tough fight! This upcoming home series is critical for Hawaii! Go Bows!

Just got back from game and The Beach was no match for Hawaii tonight. The 2nd set was close, but Hawaii was still in control and even if they did lose the set, Hawaii came out to play and The Beach were just outmatched. LBSU outside hitters really struggled, including the explosive La Rusch. Zarkovic also struggled along with Sedore, but his passing was nails all night. Passing was on tonight and LBSU was the opposite and couldn't really get their middles involved.

Kekoagoldenbear, thanks for posting your observations.
Hopefully, Siki fully recovers from his injury soon. I'm sure that Sedore will turn around his game and get out of whatever funk he seems to be in this week. Also glad to see that Fey stepped up his offense this match. Fey gets a lot of criticism for his offense (just like Olsen got last year). A lot of the criticism is justified but he's a role player who's in the starting lineup more because of his defense than what he can do offensively (again just like Olsen last year). Everybody knows that it's how well the trio of Averill, Sedore and Zarkovik can play that will dictate how far this team can go.

I'm hoping to see Holt and Fey get more sets this upcoming series......Pepperdine will be keying in on Averill, Sedore, and Zarkovic......which potentially opens the door for those other two guys to increase their offensive production potentially. Who ever serves and passes the best in this series......will win.

Everybody knows that it's how well the trio of Averill, Sedore and Zarkovik can play that will dictate how far this team can go. Based on my observation this weekend, Hawaii is set on it's line-up with Franciskovic, Sedore, Averill, Holt, Zarkovic, Fey and Kanetake. Zarkovic and Fey passing tandem along with Kanetake is successful and I see now why Fey is in the starting line-up. Jones is a great back-up for Franciskovic and Mol is an explosive player when given a chance in the Front Row. When he sealed the Match for Hawaii with the BIC play, my partner and friends wondered why he wasn't used much during the match. Hawaii used it's bench in the 3rd set when they were up like 19-12 or something that heinous. LOL Hawaii was able to neutralize the outside hitters for the Beach. La Rusch who is an explosive player could not find the floor. In Sedore's defense, The Beach was truly camping on him because they knew he was going to get a bulk of the sets. Plus, Franciskovic gave him a lot of tight sets last night, but that didn't bother Sedore, he kept swinging away. As for Zarkovic, he struggled offensively, but his overall game is impressive in my opinion. His passing was on point and he played great defense and HE IS the best all around player for Hawaii.
