Sandburg had beaten Buffalo Grove last weekend in Buffalo Grove's tourney. Looks like it will be a competitive season.

Glenbard West defeats Vernon Hills 25-13, 25-15 to win it all. The real question is how did Vernon Hills beat Addison trail in the semis?

An easy predictor of who will win state in Illinois: which club team is stronger, Ultimate 18 Gold or SPRI 18Mizuno and which high school team do most of those kids play for? Last Year it was Ultimate, hence Lincoln Way winning. This year it's SPRI, hence GBW being the favorite. Personally, I would rephrase this to say club program not a specific team from year to year. It always comes down to 2 club programs in the state of IL - Ultimate and Sports Performance. The high school teams that have the majority of their impact players attend these 2 clubs in the off-season seem to put themselves in a good position to make a state championship run. They don't have to always be on Ultimate Gold or 18 Mizuno. They could be on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th teams at 18s, 17s, or 16s. Of course, there are many other factors that go into winning the ultimate prize. But these 2 programs have a great history of producing quality and technically sound athletes. For example, these are the most recent state champions in IL in the past 10 years. In parenthesis, is the club program that the majority of the players attended. Maybe this changes this year.
2014 - LWE (Ultimate) 2013 - DGS (SPRI) 2012 - WWS (SPRI) 2011 - Sandburg (Ultimate) 2010 - Marist (Ultimate) 2009 - WWS (SPRI) 2008 - WWS (SPRI) 2007 - WWS (SPRI) 2006 - Maine South (?) 2005 - WWS (SPRI) 2004 - WWS (SPRI)
2015 - Glenbard West (SPRI) 5 out of 8 players on court during final play for SPRI. Trend continues.

Either way, Vernon Hills advancing was quite shocking.

Not sure if you can say 3 out of 11 is dominant, second most but still... That being said, If there are any other contenders out there I doubt it will change next year.

The first round of Wisconsin state tourney out did the national championship for college. Wow Haha. Box scores don't list attendance totals for Wisconsin matches. linkI was there you can take my word. The place was shaking during the Tosa East and Marquette match. Great fans plenty of excitement, that place was the goal of highschool volleyball (before people complain obviously the level of play is better in CA I am addressing the atmosphere)

Volleyball Strength and Nutrition Camp July 20th, 22nd & 23rd 8:30-10:00pm Ages 14-18 Boys & Girls Volleyball players of any age and caliber can attend this three day camp to elevate their volleyball performance. A more specific exercise regimen is required for volleyball players. They often have shoulder issues, knee problems, and occasional lower back pain. Most of these concerns come from lack of proper exercise and injury prevention. Which is why most top tier college programs invest so much time into strength and conditioning. At Volleyball Strength and Nutrition Camp you will be taught how to prevent and help alleviate these problems. Players who attend the camp will be given a 12 week program specifically designed for volleyball players. The program is broken into a 3 day split. Each day of the camp we will go over a specific day of the training which includes going over each exercise and how to perform it properly. As well as educate on certain topics such as shoulder injury prevention, causes of lower back pain, and most importantly, nutrition. Which is why most top tier college programs invest so much time into strength and conditioning. Young athletes often struggle with proper sports nutrition. What you eat and drink plays a major role in performance, recovery, and muscle building. We will discuss what to eat prior to a game/workout, as well as post game/workout. For Maine South in 2006 (Adversity & Circus) I think Maine South had a SPRI setter who was good that year.
