jaesheke, the guy is the best player out of college since matt anderson. he is only a junior, is long, can pass, and will be the starting OH next to sander in olympics to come. he has come so far from finishing his high school career as the #1 team in the nation out of chicago to winning the national championship last year. he is light years ahead of cody caldwell and will have to carry this loyola team this year if they want any chance at a repeat. Right now, he is more efficient than a. russell, with twice the ball control. his overall power game will need work but he is as effective as the best of them. right now at loyola, the back row attack is what separates them from the middle tier of teams. Jaesheke is very good, but Taylor Sander was and is a better player and he played between Anderson and Jaesheke, so this statement is false.
Nick Olson will get a look sooner rather than later.
I completely agree. Sander went from byu straight onto the national team and performed at an incredible level. Anderson took at least three years before he solidified his spot on the national team. However, the circumstances must also be noted. Anderson played with clay Stanley and Reid priddy. Whenever he struggled passing he either had to stick it out or get taken out, which happened often. For sander, he has Anderson to alleviate pressure from him in terms of passing and as junk ball outlet. No offense to Stanley, but his sets had to be much more in tempo and located. Sanders integration into the team is much more conducive to his development trajectory. In terms of players out of college, I would put kevin tillie up there too. He's not the attacker that Anderson or sander is, but his ball control is ahead of both of them, which is why he has solidified the starting spot on france with ngapeth. But of course I think you guys were referring to American players.

The one great thing is that we are getting lots of young guys in the USA gym and leaving them there.
Knipe left those cupboards bare and did a horrible job in that area. Imo.

Tamir is on the Israeli National Team and Kevin Tillie is on the French National Team. They've both been getting a lot of reps for their squads. They're both incredible players but different talents.

What's funny is Tillie was the player the U.S needed when Priddy got hurt. Not that Sander is a bad player, but Tillie would make the U.S team look a lot cleaner.

"Not that Sander is a bad player" are you serious?.. shame to the boy who got the MVP and Best Outside Spiker Award..lols sorry for my bad english...

If tillie was American, he and sander wouldn't be jockeying for the same OH spot, they would play along side each other. The usa would be set at the outside position for the next ten years. With sander on the team, OH2 has been a revolving door of sorts since priddy got hurt. Tillie would shut this door and usa would be a pretty amazing and complete team with very little weaknesses.

People are putting out names of some very solid college players and there's probably some hometown bias here. This argument is similar to college football or basketball where you have players that are very accomplished at that level but don't have all the physical skills and makeup that translates to the next level.
