finally getting around to watch the match on my dvr ...
loved the big-time joust between averill and stahl on the 50-50 ball at the end of set 1 ... (which averill won, getting hawaii to set pt) ...
and awesome that there's a filipino stick fighting class being offered at ucla (per the commercial between sets 1 and 2) ... haha

this proves hawaii is the team to beat and clear number one team in the nation. Wade is a lock for mpsf coy, and a front runner for Avca coy This proves only one thing, that UCLA is a hot mess.

But saying last night's win against a team that has lost the 5 of 6 , 4 of which were on their home floor, PROVES that you are the team to beat and #1 in the nation is a stretch. Hawaii, has indeed put a tremendous season together.

no that won't happen. there are 6 teams in the tournament ... 4 automatic bids from each conference, and 2 at-large bids. it's the MPSF and MIVA teams who are bunched up at the top of the RPI right now (loyola, lewis, uci and hawaii). so MPSF should get at least 2 bids, the auto-bid and an at large. the other at-large will likely go to lewis or loyola, whichever of them does not earn the auto. ohio st is also a MIVA team and is #5 in the RPI right now, but i don't see the committee giving both at-larges to the MIVA. in any case, hawaii and uci both beat ohio st early in the season, so i would think hawaii and uci would be selected over ohio st for an at-large, based on head-to-head alone. Lewis and Loyola are in the same conference? And the four conferences are MPSF, Penn State's conference, Loyola's conference and the other? The 4th conference is Conference Carolina's made up of Div. II university. See standings below from Off the block website www.offtheblockblog.com/rankings_standings/

I would have to agree that right now they are the team to beat because they sit on top the MPSF and coaches poll seems to agree with us Hawaii fans as well. They are 9-1 on the road including a 4-set win at UCI and that by itself is an accomplishment considering every seems to agree that UCI is the top of the class this year.

Expecting big crowd at Stan Sheriff center next week? And what's the average attendance this season? And isn't men's volleyball the sport being considered for elimination? I thought I read an article about it.

It seems you have been on VT for a while kahusancali is this a tongue in cheek querry? Negative. I just never paid that much attention to the men's game except this season because UH is doing well:)

UH is having a great season! And it is great to have more warrior fans paying attention to the men's side. UH fans in general on this board are pretty knowledgable and fun.

"Clearly" #1....is true as it currently stands....cause well it is. I know it seems hard to fathom at this point. But until Hawaii is knocked off its pedestal and UCI surpasses them in the mpsf standings.....they are "clearly" #1.
