In the past, schedules were released on Wednesday (roughly two days before the first day due to teams dropping out). The more teams dropping out at the last minute, the more the schedule had to be re-worked to eliminate byes.

Well summit won AA last year and Great Lakes Lightning won PVL last year against Rising Tide. From the rosters I would say GLL, Pineapple, Rising Tide, Icemen, and Wave are the teams I expect to be in the Gold challenge brackets on day 3.

HAHA WHAT THE HECK RISING TIDE HAS A STACKED ROSTER!!! They've got Brinkley libero, Jeff Menzel, Brian Cook, and Taylor Crabb on the pins, Dylan Davis and Scott Slaughter as huge middles, and Vinny Devany their setter from last year who made all tournament team...

Rumor Mill - PVL Sent out an email stating that anyone currently in college can not play on the PVL teams. "They wait until 4 days before they play?" That's tough!

It's common knowledge that collegiate players need to be out of eligibility. From the PVL operating code:
2.4.3 The PVL recommends that all participating athletes should have exhausted their collegiate eligibility prior to being added to a PVL roster and competing in a PVL hosted/recognized/sanctioned event, unless they did not attend college or have elected to voluntarily forfeit any remaining eligibility.

That makes sense. It also explains why some collegiate players were supposedly on a public PVL roster a month ago by mistake and almost immediately taken down off the web. For anyone that missed that thread from a few weeks ago... volleytalk.proboards.com/thread/58698/ncaa-guys-on-pvl-rosters
