USA has one of the three best middles in the world IMO. Milena > Maja > Foluke > Fabiana > Thaisa > Christa > Robin > Carol > Fürst > Dixon > Chirichella What about the Chinese? True. And Christina Bauer needs to be in that list, too.

True. And Christina Bauer needs to be in that list, too. I would argue that Foluke, with the right setter, would easily become number one, but no one seems to be able to set her high enough.

Précisément! Foluke had solid connections with Kehoe, Berg and (most of the time) Tomkom, but none of the current USA setters truly fathom how great that vertical is and how high that ball needs to be for her to unleash the heat! No worries, as I'm sure the imminent Foluke-Carlini combo will be surgically accurate, since the girl is famous for finding and diming her middles. You also have to give it up for Rašić and Poljak. These Balkan ladies had huge years professionally--especially Milena, who's still young(er) and has a brilliant career ahead of her. Then again, she also has Naz and Maja setting her most of the time, which gives her an edge over most middles around the world.

How about "she is struggles to connect with her" I also highly doubt you will see the Carlini/foluke much or if at all. If Foluke retires after Rio, they aren't going to be playing together.

Foluke gets a lot of kills for someone who can't get set right.
Additionally, you have to consider that if a whole series of the world's best setters can't set you, not Berg, not Glass, not Tomkom, not Skorupa, not Feretti, not Zhukova, then maybe it's not the setter.

I was clearly being hyperbolic when I said "fathom." Moving on... Are you suggesting Foluke's retirement is certain after Rio? If she continues playing into her 30s for one more quad, the two will be playing together.

This is just me speaking but, if I were at that age, and played in two olympics, I may play another year or two pro to pack away the money, but four more years to play in the olympics after you have played in two, for next to no money? Not me.

How many times she has to drag her elbow down just to make contact with the ball...mind numbing.

Wonder why Kehoe had the best connection with her.

I disagree. I think the great Lindsey Berg could have improved her connection with Foluke. I honestly think Foluke could improve her connection with all her setters.
