Italy has some of the world's most amazing liberos. They have a factory there of defensive specialists lol. Still a fan of Paola Cardullo, arguably the best in her time along with Sano (Japan) and Fabi (Brazil). I know its still one year to go but aside from Larson and Hill, who do you think will be the 3rd and 4th OH for that Rio spot? Looks like Hildebrand might be behind Robinson and Hodge as of the moment. Right now, it would appear that Robinson and Hodge are the leading candidates. But, it is 13 months until Rio. So, a lot can change between now and then. Who are the other OH's in the pipeline? Vansant, Richards, Lichtman, Klineman, Newcombe? Too soon for Hayley Hodson?

I think it is too soon for Hodson because if she was even a contender she would have been in Turkey right now. In my opinion unless they're saving her. Ha. I really want to see what Vansant can do. She didn't earn MVP at the Pan Am cup for nothing.

The game today is at 12pm Eastern time?

Maybe I'll skip my annual Independence Day viewing of 1776 to cheer on Team USA instead.

What the ducks... Don't tell me; it's going to be one of those years where everyone beats everyone despite who is who.. Now maybe Vansant can still start against Belgium..

In other pools, China beat DR and Germany 3-0. They're facing Russia tomorrow. Also, Serbia lost to Thailand 2-3 and to Brazil 0-3. At the beginning of international volleyball, I always overestimate the Serbian team's abilities. On paper, I feel they should be better. Not sure why they're not winning games.

I'm scared. China means business.. They beat each of their opponents and kept under 15. Well except for Germany. They let them pass to 22 in one set.

Are they missing some keys players? Their setter, opposite, and one "star" outside?
