I do agree that many times the term "athletic" is considered too often someone with the physical gifts to be a good athlete (fast, high vertical, etc). In reality, things like hand eye coordination, seeing the ball and play progress are just as important to make someone a "athletic". Those can't just be determined by numbers. I've always said Ryan is a good athlete.
I went to college with a kid who had none of the physical tools of an "athlete". He was a good libero, but was able to play basically every sport from ping pong to basketball at a high level as well.
