Anyone find the USA's sideline to be a bit annoying? Specifically, what are you speaking to?

Anyone find the USA's sideline to be a bit annoying? Specifically, what are you speaking to? Their singing and dancing. I guess seeing a team get slaughtered 25-2, I would consider toning it down. But that's just me.

Solid sweep by USA: -7, -2, -5
Tori led all players in points again with 16 (8 kills out of 10 attempts, 6 blocks, and 2 aces).

Just wanna give those kids a big hug. They looked miserable. A couple of them appeared to be crying during the second set. Some of them are pretty cute, though.

Pretty sure it doesn't matter but why would Kelsey be MOP over Tori? I mean Tori was clearly the best player for USA tonight.
And also I will retract all my past comments about being worried about the teams on the bottom half of the field. I had no idea the caliber of those teams. Can someone please explain to me why/how these teams are in this tournament?

Antarctica will be at the next tournament

I actually liked the US A benches interpretation to the "World Cup Theme Song". Gets 'gold' in my book. * The USA was in 1st Place for a few minutes - then Russia swept. But they are in the lead now in "Points Ratio".

Has anyone seen any other National Team where the sideline players behave like that? I understand that there is camaraderie, but sometimes it just seems to border on juvenile or unprofessional.

That's disappointing to hear. What was Karch doing? I'll have to watch for myself, but hopefully the players representing our country have some humility and grace going forward.

I agree; it should have gone to Tori, regardless of her winning the award yesterday against Peru. When the Japanese host FIVB tournaments, they have proven to be unorthodox when they hand out awards (see last year's World Grand Prix when the MVP award was given to Yuko Sano, the now-retired libero of the Japanese NT). And also I will retract all my past comments about being worried about the teams on the bottom half of the field. I had no idea the caliber of those teams. Can someone please explain to me why/how these teams are in this tournament? No worries. These annual and quadrennial tournaments all have different formats and qualification methods. For the World Cup, the 12-team field is comprised of the two top-ranked teams from each continent (determined by their rankings in their continental confederations or by continental qualification tournaments) plus the USA (we qualified by winning the World Championships last year) and Japan (they qualify as hosts). Here's the exact breakdown: Japan (hosts) USA (winners of the 2014 World Championships) Russia + Serbia (top-two ranked teams in the European confederation) China + South Korea (top-two ranked Asian teams, excluding Japan since they host) Dominican Republic + Cuba (first- and second-place finishers in the 2015 NORCECA Champions Cup) Argentina + Peru (first- and second-place finishers of the South American qualificaiton tournament) Kenya + Algeria (first- and second-place finishers in the 2015 African Volleyball Championship) Noticeably missing at this year's World Cup are Brazil (they aren't playing because they automatically qualify for the Olympics as hosts) and Italy (they actually tied Serbia for second in points in the Euro rankings, but the tiebreaker was determined by Serbia's higher-place finishes in the two most recent European Championships).

Oh geezzzz! If it's not one thing it's another. People on here need to find something to complain about.

It was already a sad situation. They could either dance or sit there, yawn, and look somber to make it appear even more funeral-like. I'd rather they dance.
