I heard she was with her father, Professor Plum, and coach, Colonel Mustard, in the library, holding a candlestick.

That's your tact. Others have a different tact. In the end, if the criticism is volleyball skill related, then it's not an unfair attack. Plum isn't good enough to be the setter of the USNT. That goes for almost all other setters who've graduated from college in recent years. If people are offended by reality, then they need to toughen up. please don't talk reality when you know nothing about the usa system. You don't know who I am yet you feel qualified to state that I don't know anything about the USA system while speaking of reality. You're an epistemological nightmare. Moreover, my statement had nothing to do with the USA system, so don't move the goal posts. I stated that Plum isn't good enough to be the USNT setter which is evidentially true. Meaning, if she were, she'd be traveling with the 'A' or even 'B' squad. However, she isn't. QED. Again, where has anyone made a derisive comment about Plum that was unfair, i.e. non-VB related? I will be the first to defend her under that scenario, but until then, stating that she's "nowhere to be found in the USNT gym" is both reality and fair.

you're missing the point completely No I'm not. I understand that people want kokyu criticized without attacking Plum. However, kokyu's contention is that Plum is the best setter in the US system right now. I don't think it's unfair to point out that she's clearly not the best, nor even in the conversation based on her lack of participation. That's not a personal insult to her, it's just the truth of the matter. Appeal to authority's your argument. I'll raise and extend my proxy setter battle to include Glass, Kreklow, Bkedane, or Karch! I'll even pay for my own way and stay in Anaheim. This can only be settled on the court.

Does anyone else find the Lauren Plum commentary to be offensive? We all agree that Kokyu states things that most disagree with. Mostly this is regarding his feelings for Lauren. However, in the process of trying to tear down Kokyu, many tear down Lauren Plum. Lately there has been some nasty comments about her and I think it's extremely unfair. She is and was an amazing athlete. Let's not forget that. If you have a problem with Kokyu, take it up with him, rather than attempting to use her as an insult. Thoughts? who said anything even remotely close to derogatory about her as a player or person? ?

I have zero idea what you are talking about? Have never read one word that saw negative let alone offensive, or nasty or unfair. What in the world are you referencing?

Perhaps the point that you are missing is that it's pointless to argue with Kokyu at all. He's a troll. Don't feed him. I have no problem rooting for Plum - she's a great point guard...

It is inaccurate to say Plum hasn't been in the U.S. gym. From 2014:
She was also on the 2014 NORCECA team, along with Molly Kreklow.
She also was selected for the U.S. Junior National Team in 2011, so was clearly in the "pipeline" then. She did have a leg injury her senior year (2013) at Oregon, which might have, as it did with Carli Lloyd, forced her to choose between playing professionally and participating in the national team gym.
As it is, every setter in the U.S. gym is from an earlier collegiate class, except for Kreklow (who is of the same class), which points to the importance of international experience, especially for setters. For all we know, she, like Lloyd, could still work her way back into the U.S. gym.
