Texas dominates set 1, 25-13.
As suspected UCI is utilizing a lot of their bench against Texas in preparation for the short turn around time before they play Rice. Tsujimoto starts at libero and Wright at Opposite for UCI. Backups Blair and Frost also seeing court time. It won't change the outcome but might make the scores more lopsided.
Maybe the UCI coach was mad at just how much Texas was dominating. She took out Tsujimoto at libero. Arden Davis who started the match wearing a white jersey changed into a blue jersey mid match. The UCI coach changed liberos mid match and inserted Davis the regular libero who lead UCI with 23 digs against LSU.

Texas wins set 2 and goes up 2-0.
I expect both teams to probably empty their bench for set 3.

Texas completes the sweep winning set 3, 26-24.
UCI had too many defensive miscues at the end by their inexperienced players.

Injury to team Captain/OH Marisa Bubica in the 1st set didn't help UCI either.

Bubica's getting hurt is more of a bad break against Rice where she could have made an impact on the match.

As far as the newcomers for Texas, impressed by Morgan Johnson in the middle and Lauren Beard in the back row. Unless there are some injuries we are unaware of, their starting indicates they have moved ahead of Mirta Baselovic and Paladino, respectively. But, it's a long season, so we'll see how things unfold long-term.

How does Prieto-Cerame look? Her attacking stats against UCI were pretty dismal. Is she making up for it in other ways? How does Dalton look? Looks like she played 2 sets, I'm assuming in a 5-1 since she her stats included a few attacks and block assists.

She is hitting very timidly and has a very poor hitting %. Not sure exactly what's been going on but I was happy to see Yaz come in in her place. Dalton was ok but connection wasn't near as good as Chloe's. She did however put up a great block, think she had 3-4.
