On a serious note though, why can't BTN show some of these matches. They are not running anything live. It looked yesterday like it was a marathon of BIG greatest games
They just refuse to want to show volleyball on network if they can avoid it, where I saw two of them on pac network yesterday

So many new faces and very little time together is evident. You have freshmen playing like freshmen....Duello & Williams hitting negative in 1st 2 sets. This group will get better & better the more they compete together!!

I don't think it's a surprise to anyone that that is the way to play Wisconsin -- or that Thomas is an incalculable loss. How do you beat the best setter in the country? Don't let her be the best setter in the country. +1

Carlini and Williams forming a good block in this set. Their connection is getting better. They are playing Colgate it should be good. A lot of ooc matches are hard to get read on. We will know better when conference play starts.

Carlini finishes with an ace. That looked more like the badgers.

Stats bear out that sense the badgers got better and better. They hit 0.096, 0.263, 0.423 in these sets. Bates still too many errors for me with 7 on 27 swings and hitting 220...on the other hand she seems to get most of the junk, and when she gets hold of one, man! Gillis another good hitting day at 17 kills for 0.400. She seemed smarter in this match, but she was also more resolved digitally on my feed. Nelson was again quietly very good - only 7 kills but hitting 0.600. She really got agressive at the end of set 2 when they needed her. Formed a good block with LC at the end of set 3. Williams only hit 0.042... but was much better as the match went on. Duello also grew into the match. The offense is nowhere where it needs to be, but there are good signs.
I really really like MacDonald. Her service runs have been key - the other team can not get an offense set for some reason. We need to get regular points from other rotations though. She is also great defensively. MacDonald, Bates and Morey were about even with 15, 14, 16 digs. That means we had five players average about 5 digs/set. Carlini with 9, which is bang on her average last year. Passing was OK, although there were some momentary lapses, especially in the first set.

I've watched colgate take 8 swings at the ball and every single attack was at Carlini... Morey is taking the second ball with a bump..it's a bit sloppy, still working. That was a very pretty slide williams. This is precisely why it was so huge having Courtney in the past...
