I think USC will be strong but their Achilles heel is their passing as of now, If a team can disrupt their fast offense. And Ford struggles without a fast set. I mean a lot of times Bricio bails them out as well. Maybe USC can get far, FF I don't know. Depends on how consistent they are... And if the other team has a really strong opposite-blocking and hitting

Abercrombie and Bricio were USC's offense tonight. Their next leading scorer was Ford with 4 kills and she hit negative.
Passing is a concern but USC really went away from the middle tonight, in respect of BYU.

The problem is USCs offense is too reliant on Bricio. She's amazing but good teams can camp block her. The offense needs to be diverse a team like Penn State, Stanford, maybe Florida I think would beat USC. I think that they are top 16 good maybe even top 8 but SC needs more offense to be top 5-6 team in the country.

In any case these were impressive wins two top 25 wins to start the season SC may crack top 10 next poll. In the long run NC and BYU will help overall RPI so that's very good.

Looking at the stats of this tournament, if BYU is going to ride Gray all year, they will fall out of the top 20.

Live2 has the match (after a commercial/preview): twigs76.com/pac12/live/I hope you all enjoyed the stream, that chose to come by. As you may have noticed, the embedded Google spreadsheet is what I use to attempt to keep everyone up to date. I try to keep a relatively clean and simple website, NOT laden with an abundance of ads, nor any additional to the streams themselves. I have login information; an alternate way to watch (Kodi.tv) as needed; Live games and Livestreams are separated out from the PAC-12.com TV broadcast schedule for up to a few days in advance; TV Network information (adding additional live stream links shared from the PAC-12.com schedule pages as shared this year); as well as the breakdown of what each of the sports are that are typically listed in their acronym form... i.e. FH = Field Hockey (new to the live broadcast this year), color coded for female only, female/male, and male only sports. -Brian

USC looked very good last night even when they don't set their middles. Bricio is a given, Abercrombie is living up to her prepvolleyball ranking, and while she hit negative, Ford can jump. But the most important piece of this SC team is Whittingham. She is a lot of fun to watch, no balls are touching on the floor if she is on the court. One of the most under appreciated players in the PAC.
Having watched both SC and Stanford, I think SC has the slightest edge right now unless Stanford can have Lutz back and Hodson lives up to the hype.

I said this in a separate thread but I think they were both a little overrated to start the season. I guess I phrased that wrong they are good and will improve but both UNC and BYU experienced a significant loss in offense. They both lost their RS hitters to graduation. Its the first week of the season who knows both teams could improve and run their respective conferences. I just think other teams have more offensive weapons and better d.
