Weiskircher's passes seemed high and predictable too often, allowing the defense to prepare. PSU was getting blocked more than you might expect.
Wasn't feeling like I was a watching a team that was great with digs. Miss Dom badly. The seniors, particularly Megan Courtney, took over when needed. Ali Franti seemed to be at same level as last year, not above. Don't know if she needs stronger competition to shine.

The passing core is intact with Dom and Lacey gone? No. ....... The word "mainly" was missing. My bad. With your two NC primary passing OH's returning is not "so" many new roles . Keeton on passed fine but things changed a bit in the Villanova match. I expected more from Ali and Megan in the passing dept. Hopefully the communication and symmetry improves. Just to be clear, Lacey never passed a ball that I can remember over the past 2 years.

Think of how many times that ball went back and forth over the net. Very different than we are used to. Patience, I guess will be key. This weekend will be interesting to see how everyone reacts.

I think it's Weiskircher to lose based on the amount of playing time she got and the connection she had with the hitters. What surprised me was how acrobatic/athletic she was when, in numerous times, she set on her knees.

This is not a PSU team in which long rallies favor them. Their best attribute right now is great arms that can score, and blocking. They will get way better in the other areas as the season goes on.

Frantti is not a 6 rotation outside. I doubt she spends much more time receiving serve...

Of course they do, but if you watched the matches from this weekend, as I'm sure you did, you must know that PSU's passing game right now is nowhere near the level it has been for the last three years. I'm sure it will get better, but it is definitely an area of concern now.
