Frantti is not a 6 rotation outside. I doubt she spends much more time receiving serve... I bet she spends most of the season receiving serve as a 6 rotation outside. We'll see. 50.1%, 66.6%, 75% or 85%? Honestly I would leave her in there, only with the caveat that you get a back row sub for Whitney that can pass and play the 6 or 1. Having 4 on the floor who can pass maybe the ticket this year. Otherwise, she is going to need breaks especially on back to back matches or long ones.

I think it's Weiskircher to lose based on the amount of playing time she got and the connection she had with the hitters. What surprised me was how acrobatic/athletic she was when, in numerous times, she set on her knees. The fact that she had to be acrobatic and set from her knees might be indicative of a problem. Of course. The problem right now is passing. If she wasn't on her knee trying to set those runaway passes, then she would be bump setting them instead (I hate bump setting, btw).

Just wanted to put on here- since nobody else has...how impressed I was with her performance against Stanford and in front of a HUGE (albeit home) crowd.
Wanted to give her a shout out, props, snaps...or whatever the kids are saying these days.
This young woman has shown fight and toughness- beyond what we've seen on the court; filling the shoes of a MOP & NPOY, being redshirted, having another setter recruited and having to fight for a starting position- having to earn your coach's trust, and the volleyball community's respect.
Only imagine the feelings after reading/hearing statements from Rose that were less than excited about your possibility of starting.
Respect!
On the court, she's really finding her rhythm and connecting a lot better with all the hitters. I'm really looking forward to watching the progress over her collegiate career.

Bryanna is looking better every match and I feel very positive about PSU's schedule. Right now everything is coming up aces.

I would venture to say that unless something major happens, she has the position in the bag. I don't think her offense was the issue, but her defense, if I read RR correctly. Anyhow, once she has the position solidified for good, she really needs to work on her connection with Thelen and Frantti, and also fast sets. But I am satisfied with what I am seeing from her. I am now confident that setting is not PSU's weakeness, but one of the teams strengths.

Bryanna is the one player who has shown improvement almost every time out, of course that is relative to my lack of watching her play and her number of games too. I also feel that as much of our offensive sputtering goes on the heads of our pin hitters too. Ali is just now beginning to feel her groove, Megan was was safe mode, perhaps worrying too much about others, and Aiyana wasn't going hard enough to get her feet to the ball. Clearly the energy of Saturday night cleared that up fast and Megan and Aiyana were in beast mode at the net and Ali started to take some smarter shots and add her special Crack to the ball. I'M sure that ball off the head of Hodson (I believe) went 25+ rows up. Ouchy. That being said, it will be interesting to see if the team can keep the offensive efficiency going as we travel to Note Dame and Florida and play lesser opponents. I'm sure Coach Rose will do his part to motivate them but how the team approaches these games will be something to see. They clearly have a 4th and 5th gear but just don't want to go back to 2nd.

I am sure she has been working on her defense too, but that didn't stop RR from commenting about it.

His comments about what a player should be working on are probably a little better informed than yours.

Some of what Coach sees we don't see or can't see. That's why he is the coach at PSU.
