Bobcats with match point in the 4th. On WatchESPN. Great match. Ohio upsets 10th ranked Kentucky. You breathing alright 'light after Oregon survived at George Washington? Lost the first two sets and had to scramble back to win in 5 at a very good GW team, in spite of 1-3 record.

Ohio takes it 30-28. Kentucky has a nice team, but they don't have the lefts to be Top 10 this year.

GW is solid, has a really good middle, and had a really nice crowd of students for opening night. It was nerve wracking but the team woke up after the intermission and finished it off.

Makes Purdue sweep look more impressive... A more telling weekend for the Boilers coming up.

Double Red Cards in the 4th set sealed the deal. Know what happened? I saw Skinner apologized on Twitter but that's all I've heard.

Double red cards? Skinner and Deane? Or double-dumbass on one?

Double red cards? Skinner and Deane? Or double-dumbass on one? Skinner and Bergren. Just pulled up the replay, apparently it was from Skinner's strong reaction to a non-called double (ironically, they won that point). I'm curious what he said exactly. Bergren then went up to the ref stand for a while.

I was watching the match and the commentators didn't have a clue what was happening. My live stream was not good enough to tell what happened and no replays were shown. My best guess was that they were protesting a no-call on a set by OU. The ref was letting a lot of nasty sets go uncalled.

Odd that they got red cards for that unless something was said or it went on too long. I'm a Tennessee fan and I've seen lots of complaining about calls that didn't result in red cards!

Know what happened? I saw Skinner apologized on Twitter but that's all I've heard. yes, let's hear the juicy details! I know both parties involved. Donnie Goodwin the official is excellent. He tends to let them play, especially setters. Skinner had had a rough night. Injury kept Thomassen back row only. Bergren rolled her ankle in warm-ups and was iffy, then collided with libero later in a rally - head to head - and nearly went down for the count. It probably wasn't Donnie's or the entire crew's best match as there had been some interesting calls throughout the night. In that 4th set, there was a no-call on a touch that - according to my source, was far more obvious in person than on TV (I saw the replay and couldn't see it). There was a double called on ball on KY's libero that was obvious, then the no call on the double on the OU setter. I think it was just a boiling point and Skinner blew-up. He was frustrated with his team, with the injuries, with the poor play, and some sketchy calls. It happens. I also find it funny a play or two later a no call double on KY - the OU coach jumped up from the bench but pulled back quickly when OU won the point. I think if Skinner had not barked, they would have won the point and probably the set. But the jump up, and the bark, got the card. I am sure Bergren backed her coach and mentioned that the call was something like stinky stuff found in a Kentucky cow pasture - boom, red for you. It was a three point swing. UK won the rally, but lost it on the card = 1, card to bench = 2, card to player = 3. The above shouldn't be construed to take anything away from OU. They played their tails off and deserved that W.

Every year I wait for Kentucky to breakthrough and every year they disappoint. Looks like another year of them probably being in the bottom half of the top 25.
