Poor Washington State has a 10-6 lead in the 5th over Arizona in Pullman but can't pull off the upset as Arizona takes the match 15-13.
Hope everything is ok with Macey Gardner, but Washington hands ASU first loss.
UCLA takes down Utah.. solid victory for the Bruins.
Stanford doesn't skip a beat at OSU..
USC survives Colorado.. by turning it on late. Colorado went toe to toe with SC through the 2nd and 3rd sets after winning the first. USC took over in 4 and 5.
Oregon handles Cal in a very important game for the Ducks.

Dang..I'm watching the replay of WSU- AZ game. WSU played well. I'm impressed with how fast they run their offense. I wish they could have finished it off in the 5 th. ASU scores were really bad, except for the 2nd set. ASU reported that Macy had a leg injury and would not play on Sunday.

Poor Cal at 0-5. They're the new OSU & WSU. Pablo favors them to beat OSU on Sunday in Berserkeley.

It feels kind of weird when the team you follow has one of these Wed/Fri schedule weeks, because here it is Saturday and I keep thinking the week's action is already over, even though there are still five matches being played tomorrow.

It is really a continuous schedule. I always thought UW, with a weak travel partner in WSU, was at a big disadvantage traveling to L.A. or the Bay Area for back-to-back Friday/Saturday matches. They could spend most their time preparing for UW, while UW had to split their prep time. Prior to 2013, UW had never swept the L.A. schools on the road, and this year, with a wounded Stanford and a weak Cal, could be UW's best chance ever of sweeping the Bay Area schools on the road for the first time.

There is plenty of time to fully prepare for both opponents playing 2 matches per week. If there's a disadvantage to having a weak travel partner it's not anything about preparation time. Ask any Pac or B1G coach.

If there's a disadvantage to having a weak travel partner it's not anything about preparation time. Nonsensical. My point was not that UW wouldn't spend equal time preparing for both road opponents, but that their opponents can afford to spend less time preparing for the weak travel partner. By "weak" I mean a team where a victory is a virtual certainty. With the Fri-Sat schedule, recovery time is also a factor, as the Neb@OSU match likely showed.

My reply isn't "nonsensical" - it's what any coach who has actually prepared for two conference matches per week will tell you. There is more than enough time in a week for any PAC staff to prepare as much as they want for both opponents each week. Whether a team is preparing for two good opponents, like the Arizonas this year, or a weak/strong pair like WSU/UW doesn't make a difference because preparation time is not scarce. The extra time one might have available if one for some reason one didn't choose to fully prep for WSU would not add to the prep for UW. Again, if prep time were scarce you'd be right. But it's not and you're wrong. Again, ask anyone who actually does this work every week.

I understood your point. My reply isn't "nonsensical" - it's what any coach who has actually prepared for two conference matches per week will tell you. I'm not speaking about merely two conference matches a week, but two visiting opponents (one strong and one weak). That there would be equal prep time for both is nonsensical. So, how many college coaches are you in weekly conversation with? (Yeah, right.)
