According to a Big West coach, Idaho may end up staying in teh Big West. The rumor is that there may be no place for them to go. (Oh, so I won't get another letter of reprimand in my file, I will use the words, "Women's Volleyball".

I would love that. I like the Big West. The problem is the football relationship.
I don't think that the Sun Belt really wants Idaho to come in and lick everyone in all the other sports, so could see where they'd keep UI as a football member only.
Ideally, UI could join a closer conference than the Sun Belt for football too, though.
I haven't heard much more about it. But as far as I know, we're still slated to be in the Sun Belt in '05. We've a new president now, so things COULD change.

IB, you're just happy that your problem was solved, if Idaho is really staying in the Big West. You won't have to pick and choose who to root for everytime Hawaii and Idaho meet on the floor, as to be expected have they moved to the WAC. ;D

However, making HawaiIdaho shirts is a better option than not ever seeing UI cuz they are in Louisiana all the time! |
